Remember him saying he had no intention of going into Management because as a pundit he could say whatever he wanted about whoever or whatever he liked without risking a hefty fine or the sack!
This is where I found out about it. No different to sharing it to any other form of social media, which is where a lot of news gets broken nowadays...
Only saw him play twice in the flesh. Those 2 league Cup ties of 81/82. Grobelaar Neal Kennedy Thompson Lawrence Hanson Whelan Sourness Mcdermot Rush Dalglish What a line up.
Like all great defenders he had all the time in the World. I had no idea he was in a bad way. I'll say a prayer for him.
Jeez?.. that team was a one in 'bluemoon' team that came through all at once.. Never been done before and you'll wait a awful long time for it to be repeated.. As good as a 'once in a lifetime' thing that you'll ever see..
Remember rumblings around oakwell not long after his retirement he was being spoken about as being our manager not sure if it was fabricated chip shop talk or had any substance. Hope he pulls through
As I wrote in my earlier post, I just didn't feel that this article was an appropriate place to highlight a professional misjudgement. Others have made reasonable arguments to the contrary, which I respect. I'm sorry, I'm not clear what point you're making here.
It is weird that they would highlight that line in the article, especially when the likes of Gary Neville have since come out and agreed with him, pointing out that players like Schmeichel, Irwin, Pallister, Bruce, Keane, Sharpe, Cantona and Cole were important to their development.
Very sad news but not sounding good. Absolutely class defender and one of few entertaining pundits. Fingers crossed he can pull through.
He was quite elegant for a central defender. I know it’s not an adjective you normally associate with that position but I think it suits him because he was elegant.
I really like the fact that he was called Jocky, by his Liverpool team mates and friends. Obviously there are no health updates yet, so we just hope for the best for him.
