Re: have any of you stopped to consider this Course we are...Tw&tter and The Sun, FFS...There is no argument.
I won't believe it until a deal is done. 'Prem clubs won't pay more than 500k'... tell them to push off then! BFC is the one holding all the cards here.
It's speculation, on a football forum about a footballer. From a journo, via twitter. It's basic stuff.
This If we accepted 500 from Swansea mason couldn't agree. It's dead. It moves on. We reject all other offers until we find one acceptable. I'd rather he sit on his arse for 12 months and our club grow a pair of ****ing balls. And it be sorted by tribunal later. 500. If we end up accepting this everyone on our board are rank amatures
I completely agree. What worries me is that had Mason agreed terms we'd have accepted £500k (allegedly).
I'm just totally miffed by it. It's not like we could go all out and buy 2 or 3 players with it. We wouldn't get anything half as decent on our track record. We seem to have been "cutting our cloth" for what seems an eternity (flicker excluded by the sounds). Have we any cloth left. Surely we are down to a wet rag by now.
I am starting to get concerned a little. This early bird was supposed to set us up budget wise so we could recruit early knowing our limitations. Whilst we have done one or 2 deals we are still woefully short.
I'm not convinced the club are stupid enough to let our next big star go for £500k BUT if they are then someone needs showing the door......head first!!! It really pisses me off when you see the likes of Sheff Utd and Peterborough getting millions for players they flog then we get 50p, half er mars bar and a blackies egg!! Come on Barnsley for **** sake use your noggins!!!
That only stretches to buying the wrong biscuits. PC: ****ing arrowroot, bazza!! BT: add it to the list of mistakes
IF we have accepted £500,000 for Mason Holgate, then it means either: 1. We're utterly skint and his sale is vital to our future recruitment, which means we need to sell our up and coming star to finance what can only be a couple of cheap signings. Even £500,000 doesn't buy you a lot in League One, not compared to what we need. 2. Things have reached such an impasse with Holgate that it's paramount to move him on and the fee is secondary to him leaving. 3. We couldn't negotiate a favourable deal if our lives depended on it. Either way, it's utterly depressing and the whole idea of developing our own players to sell on will be rendered utterly pointless. Precedents are set by these deals. Peterborough set a precedent way back with Mackail Smith and the like. They always now get good deals. We seem to be the other extreme. Other clubs see us as a desperate soft touch who can be offered very little and forced to accept, while young players will think we'll accept the first bid that comes along for them and negotiate accordingly. Hopefully all talk of 500k will be proved to be rubbish and my moaning will be for nothing. But we're not in a good place by the looks of things on this one.
My personal conspiracy theory is that this has something to do with LJ still being registered as a player and if he doesn't sign anyone he can pick 'issen at Chessie.
