All I can say is I hope this is a joke post

'His time is running out' He's been here since February

'If this carries on' What? A record of 8 wins and 7 draws and 8 defeats? Hardly dreadful

7 months and its getting worse...the football is indeed dreadful.

Donny away was the last straw with Danny boy for me ....it was the worst I have seen in decades.

Guess who we play on October 3rd...I am going to go on the thinking it cannot possibly be as bad......but if it is......?????

All the managers mentioned in this thread have one frustrating thing in common, playing players out of position!!! It became tiresome when Davey was in charge.
Fair enough if it's a genuine last resort.
This little bug bear has caused us more problems over the years.
And in Johnson I thought we would finally see the light, but no, we are STILL playing players out of position and it's costing us points.
The left back position is the most obvious, and it's not like Johnson hasn't had time to bring someone in for that position.
No wonder we keep sacking managers.

But to even suggest that we should get rid of Johnson is absolutely ridiculous

We're not getting anywhere sacking managers so why continue???

Seeing as cup games are one offs how do you know if we would have been more defensive?

For me when we change managers, get a decent cup draw,or are a televised game that is when we see the best of our players. When the manager gets his feet under table thats when it starts going tits up. Give young Cryney the job I dont think owt much would change.

Because when we played Middlebrough under Wilson it was defend defend defend when they fielded a weakened side and we're there for the taking we hardly had a shot on goal we just set up so we didn't get hammered was boooring as per.

    Re: quick fixes

If you are a golfer never having any lessons and you are doing it all wrong but have still managed to hack around to get a half decent score and handicap of say 12-16 but you just cant get any better, the chances are you go to see a pro to get you further. They immediately spot all the issues holding you back and set about fixing them. What then happens is you get a lot worse before you get better as you adapt so one of two things then happens.

1 - you stick with it and it will come with practice and you will get that better handicap and score
2 - you want a quick fix so just go back to how you did it and stay mediocre forever.

I think the same applies here and i cant believe some of the comments we are getting after 6 games. I wasnt at the game saturday as i was doing national 3 peaks so cant comment but just look how it all clicked during the everton game. All been well thats what we are aiming for.

I never wanted wilson sacked but he went... end of. So now we have to get behind LJ. The players have obviously bought into it to come here so give them some room to get it right.

Barcelona have a playing style and whoever comes in as head coach there adapts that style - they have a product and identity and get the players to carry that out no matte who is in charge or who plays. Just some players are better at it than others.

Im not comparing us to Barca but it will be good to know what we are going to get every week - a good team playing football - rather than either amazing, dog **** or run of the mill poor.

It will come - give it time FFS. The signs are there.

Difference being, that is golf. In football, you generally can see gradual improvements, something not seen since he arrived in FEBRUARY. As for the good team playing football part, my vision of good football is attacking, with pace and plenty of goal threat. I obviously have a completely different view on what good football is to LJ.
