Sorry for the late reply. I haven't read the reports other than the basics on the BBC website and such like and what i've heard on the radio.
I'm not going to defend any one in the EDL but you seem to be suggesting that they wouldn't be offend by a White man committing these kind of offences. Admittedly they're not going to protest against it but doesn't mean they're not repulsed by it. I doubt any of us have been on a protest against paedos but I'm sure we're all repulsed by it.
Sorry if that is how it came across, certainly not what I meant. My point is that the leaders of the EDL are being opportunistic to spread their islamaphobia. I don't doubt they have the same views as everyone else regarding paedophilia. But their political aim isn't anti-paedophilia and isn't the driver of their protest
I've just spent the last half hour reading the reports of the grooming in Rotherham and it appalls me. We live with 15 minutes of a child sex grooming industry and because some un savory fractions of society challenge it there is uproar. I'm a father of a 5 year old girl and it terrifies me to think what things may be like when she's 12/13 year old! It also appears apparent that many of the guilty parties are evading prosecution for these obscene crimes. If someone can tell me if this is a inappropriate to post then please inform me. Many thanks
I was replying to ark104, BUT I can see why you're worried. Not about Muslims but about the general direction we're heading in.
big words dont hide the truth [mark twain] all it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do or say nothing [me to you]
Not just this country its the whole of the "Western" world except maybe France.... "Political Correctness" is now so powerful that anyone who says the slightest thing out of line is pilloried. Incidentally I hate that phrase and whoever thought it up wants hanging. This particularly applies where religion is also linked (falsely) to race as in the case of Muslims. I am not a racist or remotely right-wing, I used to be a member of the Labour Party until I became disillusioned by their right-turn under Blair.
