RE: Ok, let's just imagine this...

But the point is we didnt, mainly down to poor tactics and davys negativity. the facts are, alright weve beaten the teams put before us and thats all you can ask but the squad is without doubt thread bare and the season starts in a week. davy dosent seem to have a plan b like last season with phillips if he hasnt been able to persuade his targets to sign by now he should move on to his other targets before its too late, the problem is like last season hes pinned his hopes on plan a and as no plan b

Good sentiment pal, but the majority of football fans are inherently fickle and negative

    from all clubs.

I guess part of it is down to..

the fact that traditionally, the bigger the place, the bigger the club. I.e. city clubs tend to be bigger (more financial muscle, bigger crowds etc) than non city clubs.

Of course there are exceptions, while there's Bristol City, there's also Bristol Rovers who I've always seen as the smaller of the two, then while there's Nottingham Forest, there's also Notts County who have in my lifetime at least, always been a smaller team. Plus the likes of Leyton Orient, Brentford, but then they have big city clubs to compete with.

There are plenty of other reasons why we perhaps should (for now) see ourselves as 'lesser' than some clubs. James G I think mentioned Swansea, they had a couple of things going for them - they played attractive football, so players of a certain ilk would more likely want to join such a club, plus they also had the free-scoring Scotland (who of course has now jumped ship). For the record, I think Swansea will now have a much poorer season than last season. Often one really decent player (tends to be a striker/goal scorer) can carry a team - I reckon if we could find this much needed goalscorer, our other weaknesses wouldn't be exposed as much as they have been.

I agree with a lot of what Poet says as it happens, though it shouldn't necessarily stay this way.

    But......

I think the players we have had ,particularly last season, are better than 4th from bottom, who is being negative?? There were teams last season that spent less than us and finished higher, there was a team with the same average gate to ourselves that got promoted to the Premiership. I'll let you figure out ,with your Championship Manager experience ,where we went wrong.
