Can’t agree with you here mate, we are massively missing a dominant centre half and hopefully a pacy one.....we have done all season and the benefits of getting one would include Williams being able to revert to his best position at right back
So you would replace a player that’s had to play out of position all season?......strange to say the least
McCart is part of a very porous defence. I can’t say he impresses me in any way. Solid but very slow. Good in the air if the call is pumped long but not from Crosses. You certainly can’t play him without Williams at the side of him (from the current squad) given his lack of pace.
I think he’ll stick with McCart. From watching them he’s the talker in the back line who organises. My guess is they’ll be looking for a tall, pacy centre back that will enable Williams to move back to wing back. I think we’ll see Cundy and / or McCarthy moved on to free up the wages to fund it.
