Vita was a really good footballer but he was tiny. Probably the smallest left back I’ve ever seen. I don’t think English football was the right move for him.
I think the club probably just reached out to a load of ex players, and the ones they've made a video from are the ones who replied. Dominik Frieser, Mike Bahre and Kayode Odejayi are hardly legends either.
Remy Vita bizarrely wasn't given any game time in the first half of the season, but came into the side in January and didn't look too bad. Claudio Gomes came billed as the next N'golo Kante. I was alright, but I think the comparisons to Kante were based in his appearance and nothing more. For me though, it wasn't the loan players who were the issue that season.
Yes you’re right. I replied a bit later when I saw well wishes from Frieser & Hume too. He just seemed a really odd fit alongside some other Reds legends at first. I think they’ve asked nearly every player from the last 3 decades!
In a season that had very few things to sing about I thought he was a bit of a cult figure. Happy to take good luck messages from anyone who will offer them at the moment.
Exactly this - you could tell Gomes had talent, but we were giving him the first mens football he'd ever seen, so learning on the job, as per usual for us.
The final video was good. Fridge was a good player for us. He would have been decent to have around tonight. With all the talk about shackles coming off, they should have asked Jason Shackell for a good luck message
I remember them and another who weren’t selected gets bouquet of flowers and being paraded around the ground, now that was odd
He was a bit of a diamond in the rough and diamonds are forever. Shame he didn’t have the Midas touch to keep us up. If only our board had been big spenders.
