I don't know, right bunch of f@cking pinko's on here. Moaning about the ability in our democratic free market for businesses and people to succeed and to earn money for themselves! Why doesn't your own club get off its arse and make itself rich! You have the chance, the opportunity just like every other small business and individual out there does. Besides, it works so well elsewhere in our democratic and free society so why suddenly start bitching about football! Bloody commies, go live in come red coat republic if you want some sort of equality. Survival of the fittest rulez! (casualty)
Interesting. But how many football clubs do you know that "Got Rich" thru business? i.e. actually making money rather than growing that investment?
They get rich because some ego-maniac comes in with a load of loot. They then make loads of money on the back of that, perhaps still making an actualloss, all because of some initial Investment from a backer.
Wigan. Charlton. Bolton. Man City. Middlesbro. Newcastle. West Ham. Chelsea. Tottenham.....
You could list the whole of the Prem with the possible exception of Man Ure and Arsenal and Liverpool, who've done well because of their historicallargesupport andsportingand business successes.
Last time I looked commies didn't have time for multi-millionaire ego maniacs

RE: Interesting. But how many football clubs do you know that "Got Rich" thru business? But how many football clubs do you know that "Got Rich" thru business? Football IS a business and just like any other capitalist pyramid structure the successful businesses float to the top. The Premier did a business deal with that fantastic media mogul Rupert Murdoch which made many of them very profitable and successful, some even more than they were before. So what if teams lower down go to the wall - its about money! You don't think Tesco's are worried if loads of small businesses up and down the UK high street go bust are you? Course not! Share values and shareholder profit is the name of the game! Football is just another money making vehicle to get rich on! In the end if small clubs go bust, all the better. Besides, where multi-millionairres spend their money is up to them, they earned it fairly and squarely! "Last time I looked commies didn't have time for multi-millionaire ego maniacs" And nor should they! Get rich or die trying!
"In the end if small clubs go bust, all the better." That is lame. Football needs a club pyramid as much as it needs a capatalist pyramid. If your plan came to fruition and all the small clubs disappeared it would ruin the whole nature of the game in this country. Football is different to the Tesco example you give because football clubs have roots in a community, over a hundred years of history passed down through generations, and have people who pay to watch the team through their love of the club. I dont know anyone who has any feelings like that towards a supermarket. To compare football to other business markets is just crazy talk. It is different and should be treat that way.
