Looks that way at face value, but most of Derby's possession was at the back....the keeper probably had more touches than anyone on the field.
That is the one that has perplexed me the most. You sometimes get a 29% possession for a winning team that scores from a breakaway, but 17 shots at goal says something different. I cannot explain it, and because I did not see the game, it will remain that way. However, I am going to have to think again about Minority Report, and if it happens regularly, I am going to have to develop an explanation, if only for my peace of mind.
I did see the game (well apart from the last 10-15 minutes when the stream went down) and tbh I was a bit disappointed at HT with the ball retention. We just seemed to be hitting it long and it was coming straight back, the forward 3 could not get anywhere near it. We did offer some semblance of a forward press though which led to the opening goal for Chaplin, but otherwise it was a case of the defensive formation soaking up the pressure. It was similar in the second half but somehow we were finding the forwards players, meaning the midfielders could join the attacks and we were creating attempts almost every time we went in their half. Then as the second half wore on their search for the equaliser meant they were pushing further and further up field which opened up the game even more and the attacks and chances kept coming.
