I’d drop Mowatt for his embarrassing shooting alone would like to see James take his place against Millwall.
I'm a Mowatt fan but his attempt to get on the end of Kane's cross at the back post was laughable. At least he chased the ball and kept it in.
Problem with Murray is he is part of the management team that has failed to get the best out of personnel on a consistent basis. I think he's done OK but he's in a legacy thinking pattern. We need some fresh tactical ideas aligned to personnel.
That's a good question which will probably be answered when the new coach comes in. I've got nothing against Murray and do think he's done a job when in charge. Let's face it, it's a tough job for anybody. But we need the kind of man, who when asked if he wants the job says "Hell, yeah, I know these guys and how to get them playing, this is my time!"
Cos Mowatt would have skied it. Thought his passing today left a lot to be desired (Mowatts that is).
Bad day at office tosh. Feels like a defeat for me. The euphoria of the Bristol point has gone for me. Worst part is it was totally self inflicted. What hurts more is it was an A for effort.
From what I have seen in these last two games, there is every chance that we could go on a good, rather than a bad run.
I understand the point but that can’t be right. The idea that the Board take any notice of Barnsley fans has no evidence. We’re more like Tottenham and Arsenal (fans irrelevant to owners) than Liverpool and Celtic (fans can’t be ignored).
The subs killed us. We were making the pitch wider against 10 men, pulling them out of position and getting round the back (even if we kept ballsing up the final pass). We then make our changes and end up narrow, trying to play through a wall of 9 men. Poor from Murray.
Still on the fence with Murray. But that last 20 minutes. F*#k me. Was like we were 3-0 up and just trying to play keep ball without injuring anyone. I don't know who we could realistically get that would get this team winning. But Murray has now played 7, won 0.
Last 2 games have been much better. We look brighter in attack and more cohesive just let down by a lack of quality in the final third. Unfortunately with a weak team this has meant we look weaker defensively. subs definitely made things worse though.
after watching last night -thought 1st half was good but second half we were lacking the killer instinct -would prefer us to revert to 3-5-2, the long ball over the top made our central defenders look exposed -also subs made it worse that's down to poor management- we were pressing well until then, then no width -also the 3-5-2 would give our midfield a boost. there was hardly any overlapping on wings after subs- very poor far too many square balls
That was a strange change, unless you switch to 4-4-2 and put him on the wing. I was hoping he would bring James on and push Kane further forward. Would've looked like a defensive move, but more likely to create something with your best midfielders on the pitch.
