RT @Walkerpw: I understand Anderson De Silva is having a trial at Barnsley. Sounds like he may be at the club for a couple of weeks. #BarnsleyFC Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
Some short memories here. He struggled towards the end of his stay after injuries (and being played out of position), but he was quality prior to that. If he's fit, for me this is undoubtedly a gamble worth taking.
He got **** after his injury at Norwich, showed signs of quality after his injury, but not on a consistent basis.
If it isn't a wind up then I stand corrected but the chuff has he been doing since he left us? According to Soccerbase (which I think is more reliable than Wikipedia), his last game was playing for us in a 2 all with Peterborough over two years ago? He was barely up to speed then so such a long time playing in whatever pub league he's been playing in isn't going to have made him any better. I'm not denying he looked first class for a few months in the middle of his spell with us, if I remember right there were some big teams after him, but towards the end he was useless - his passes never came off and he wouldn't even attempt to tackle an opposing midfielder running past him a yard away.
It was that Summer, Keith joined early June. I doubt he could've kept him with the wages he was probably on.
I liked Anderson De Silva. He looked to have bags of skill. Until Robins played him in an advanced position, where he looked useless. But for us to go back for him, 2 years on, with a different manager, when he's now in his 30s and doesn't appear to have played for anyone since he left, it's bizarre. I'm not saying it's wrong, it's just ******* weird.
That is what had me doubting it. Can't remember ADS playing in that team with Shackell and the midfielder we got from the dutch league (who's name escapes me atm). Maybe it was the summer before when ADS left?
