    RE: match me?

Anyone would think that their goal arose from nobody marking their winger as he was played in whilst the bloke who should have been marking him went astray.

My (two pint and a whiskey) recollection was that their winger beat two or three players with sheer skill and then picked a bloke out in the middle who finished brilliantly.

What did that have to do with substittutions?

So now I don't have a command of the English language?

The substitution issue ISN'T with hindsight, it was said at the time whilst the score was still at 1-0. Just because you didn't hear the comments being made, or the posts were put up after the game (I couldn't do it at the time as I was in Oakwell) doesn't mean the views were voiced with hindsight. Unfortunately, they proved somewhat prophetic. To suggest a differing viewpoint is 'ludicrous' simply for differing from yours, or "you'll upset the natives" are asinine.
Seeing as you are now making the patronising comment 'I'm not sure you understand what the word means', I'll say asinine means 'extremely or utterly foolish'. Oh, and patronising means 'to adopt an air of condescending: treat haughtily or coolly'.
People do have differing views on all issues. I was brought up to respect another person's opinion and not subject them to ridicule or abuse simply for being different to my own and have brought my children up likewise.

So Kev, You a numpty like me then , always wrong cos we dont agree with him

some people think theirs is the only answer and if you disagree , then you are a fool.

The same person says everyone is allowed an opinion, obviously only if it agrees with his !!

the ASSUMPTION that devaney would have changed the result is ludicrous insofar as it is an absurd leap of logic.

You seem to be all too quick to ridicule my comments as asinine. If you were as respectful as you claim then would would not have used such a term.

I apologise for the "patronising" comment however.

Are you still confident I'll be buying you a drink?

    :D
Hopefully, you'll be winding me up about it just after three o'clock next Sunday!! :D
Anyway, I posted earlier that I would take the blame for us not winning this afternoon. I'm not letting Bobby Hassell, or any of the players, shoulder the responsibility. Blame me.

    You're right

By claiming your comments made about all of us who have the audacity to possess differing opinions to yourself were asinine was beneath me and I should not have lowered myself to such a level. I apologise for saying it and will ensure it is never repeated.
    I was wrong.

Even if the worst was to happen

I agree with what Stahlrost was saying with regards to you coming through for a session. It's been far too long since our last one.

    Which comments

did I make about anyone else (or you for that matter)?

Do you think your above post is any better than my "you'll upset the natives" comment?

    It's you this week...

...and was me last week. You can't argue the opposite view with some people on here. Even if you do it in a non-aggressive, non-abusive way. Some people just take an affront to being disagreed with and react by attempting to discredit the other person. North Yorks Red got all unnecessary with me and threw his dummy out last week. I hadn't said anything wrong, he knew it and promptly disappeared. You haven't said anything wrong either.

I have apologised for saying your comments were asinine

My personal opinion is that my posts are different to yours and am quite happy to let other people judge as to whether they are collectively, or specifically, 'better' than yours. Also, I have no problem in admitting when I'm wrong and am aware than I frequently am.

    I am also often wrong

and prepared to admit it (no matter what some people let their fingers type) and get the wrong end of the stick from time to time.

apology accepted and hope you'll accept mine.

    Certainly will, mate

To be honest, I've really enjoyed our 'debate'. When I got in from the match, I was still pumped up. I would've argued that black was white. During the debate, I've had to give more thought to my comments which, in turn, have helped calm me down. In fact, thanks to you and a bottle of red wine, I'm quite relaxed and subdued.
You've saved me from a bollocking and beating from Crystal!! :D

    The pressure's now on Norwich

After being on us for the past few days, Let's see how they cope with it against a, hopefully, pumped up Reading side.
