This. It is genuinely the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen Or heard from any football club and a mate of mine was once managed by Barry Fry.

I can't get my head around there being no timetable for reopening the stand. I've loads of stuff needs doing in my house and I've a vague timetable for it, what needs doing first, what I do and don't have the money for etc etc. Yet he has no idea?
I didn't realise this thread was here, so replied to RR's posting of it in another thread. That has to be one of the most uninspiring 20 minutes of my life. When things go wrong, you try and look at something to build from.... there's so little to grab on to at the minute. And that includes the people who we rely on to be leaders at every level of the club.
I’m just happy that after scouring the planet for suitable buyers, Patrick sold us to someone with the best interest of the club at heart! Oh,, hold on,,,,,,
Lets be right here we arent shocked the club wants to sell on some high value players - we understand and accept that, its part of football But to go on record and say that you change the style of football from one that was very successful because it didnt increase the value of the players is just mindblowing. Its also incredibly dumb Had he said something like - Barnsley has historically always played an attractive passing style and cited Hunter, Wilson, Ritchie even Stendell as the way the fans expect football to be played and so they wanted to move back a bit more from the direct approach and play more football as thats what Barnsley fans like to see - most would concede he has a point To come out and say its not allowing us to make enough profit from players - even if it is the reason - shows he doesnt understand the job very well
Bet Andy Giddings kicks himself when someone points that out to him - no doubt our manager increased in value even if the players didnt - as did his predecessor
How can he not know how many tickets have been returned, surely he must. Still it's good to know that my seat won't be sold to anyone else, i had assumed that given the stand is closed with no sign of ever being reopened but it's nice they've confirmed.
Is he really expecting us to believe that (im his role as CEO), he's not had a chat with the owners and in that chat asked - hey guys did you take 750k out of the club when you said you wouldn't?
Fake news. There were no offers. No one wanted the gaffer or players. Bad bad style. That's why we got 2 million for him and WBA with our disaster of a former captain and manager are top 3.
Are you suggesting he lies I don't like the change of style, mainly because it's too much too soon. But I also agree with what he said about how last season's style wouldn't be particularly sustainable, as players would burn out in the second season. At least other intense pressing teams keep the ball for a while. So a change of style for footballing reasons would've been much more palatable. I don't like the idea of player value dictating the style of play either, but appreciate we need to maximise players value. For example, if a bid of around 5m had come in for Styles, and it meant we were able to bring in an experienced midfielder to replace Mowatt, we might have been better off now. But as it was, there wasn't really any reported interest in them in the summer. So, as much as we don't like it, and I don't, there might be something in it.
I’d hazard a guess that our players were worth more last year in that style of play than they are this with this style of play .
