I Wasnt informed of that nor privy to any arguments of note with Patrick unlike the arguments Patrick had with Hecky... Now they were real ones..lol ... I know Mark only wanted loan signings that he could make permanant.... Who wouldn't... The Don always blamed Patrick if it suited him lol
Not for me mate. I’ve spent my life being around footballers and he’s not come across to me like a particularly likeable one at that. Maybe it’s just the podcast but all he could talk about was how he was the best at pranks and trashing hotel rooms and sinking boats. I might be miles out mate but he just sounded like a tit.
Don’t agree with the Don bit. Don’s remit from the owner was to steady the ship, keep costs and budgets low, and try and keep in the Championship. Break-even basically. Boring and uninspiring, but steady and safe. He did this well. Yeah, might not have been popular with the fans, and might have seemed a little naive at times, but he was switched on and knew he had to do achieve. The fact we were financially well run, is a lot down to Don. If people didn’t like it, they’re pointing the finger at the wrong person.
Got round to listening this today. I don’t think Johnson’s a dick or anything like that he just sounds like an ex-player who’s made a bit of a career in after dinner speaking & exaggerates his stories. Got the same vibe off Ray Parlour. You can tell the natural, honest ones like Luke Chadwick apart from these that tell stories for a living. Even if he was on the piss all over Christmas I don’t think it necessarily makes him a player with a bad attitude it just means he was fed up of not getting picked & didn’t think he was in with any chance of getting picked for the next game. It’d be the equivalent of Cavare, Thiam & Pinillos going out on the piss before a game not expecting to be picked after not been selected for 3 months. Unprofessional? Yes, but understandable? Also yes.
