It is possible to play attractive football and be successful You just have to persevere.
We play very boring football now and still have no guarantee of staying up. remember Mel Machin

Chelsea win lots, but I'd still rather watch Arsenal

just to add ... Crewe aren't a bad team to be modelled on Up and down like Yo-Yo's but always play good stuff ...
plus how many of their players have gone on to better things compared to ours ? When was the last time we saw some real talent at the well

Yes it is. I never said it wasn't ..... .... but attractive football that achieves relegation is not the way forward. You play the best football that you can with the players that you have got and like it or not, results are the priority, especially in our situation, as relegation will be a footballing and financial disaster for the club. 4th of the bottom after 46 games, playing **** football for the last 4 games, will do me just fine for this season
Best of luck to him Clearly he is a top bloke - be interesting to see how he does for them - played some brilliant stuff with us and generated a good team spirit. I do however find that he is slowly but surely becoming a bit of a mythological figure on this board. We failed to win a lot of football games under Ritchie - we didn't exactly go kicking and screaming into the play offs and in my opinion, we were very lucky to get promoted last year. We hardly won at home during the last calendar year he was in charge! Ritchie has got a lot going for him but I also think he has got a fair few faults which were maybe becoming exposed at Championship level. I was gutted when he got sacked because I think in time he will possibly learn from his mistakes and become a top manager. Then again, I'm probably talking ballacks. Good luck Andy.
RE: Best of luck to him Hopefully he'll get the chance to manage without one hand being tied behing his back. I think he'll do OK, hopefully without taking any of his ex-players though.

You are wrong Everything is entirely black and white, that's it. Ritchie was God, Ronnie wallwork was a football genius. End of story.
RE: You are wrong hehe Forgot about Ronnie Wallwork Wonder if we would be pushing Sunderland for the championship had he still been playing or if we would have just had to make do with a play off berth?
Wallwork If I had stayed fit, I doubt we'd have signed Daewoo Matiz. Promotion would have eluded us I reckon but at least he'd be a realistic contender to start a game.
RE: Wallwork how dare you say promotion would have eluded us ? Your ambition clearly doesn't match the club's..... on yer way laddie !!! (P Cryne)
