Surprise surprise. You posted a link to. Lee Harris. Conservative voting Brexiteer. Radio presenter. Journalist, GBNews. If that's what you think. I can think of others on the other side of the house bigger jokes. (Desperation) For trying to bring criminal charges. Hope they pay for the investigation. Same with trying to divert partygate as being akin to Starmers visit to the north east during an election campaign meeting.
Not sure why colour means anything? There's plenty of white people who feel the exact same way those men in there do? In fact I assume it's because of who he linked?
This should be nothing to do with the police in the first place. Bringing charges for tax evasion is the responsibility of HMRc.
Electoral offences were also suggested. It came before the Police again due to a vexatious complaint by the Tories, in particular the unimpressive James Daly. They have never really forgiven her for the "scum" remarks. (Although she apologised.) Bereft of this little nugget, the Tory media are this morning trying to further whip up the Diane Abbott non-story. If you have 14 years of nothing but failure, try a little mischief-making instead!
Labour will create a publicly owned energy supplier. Essentially re nationalising gas and electricity companies. Labour will remove unfair tax breaks for private schools and use the money to improve state schools and employ mental health experts in schools. Labour will block bonuses for water companies if their companies dump raw sewage into our rivers. Labour will divert funds from hotels for asylum seekers and put it to employing more people who can process asylum claims quicker instead. Labour will being train companies under public ownership Labour will make sure there are rape specialists in every police force Labour will start a free breakfast club in every school allowing kids to have a safe space and allowing parents to work. I'd say they have a clue
I agree. Folk may feel they have moved away from old labour but those policies alone feel very much like what a lot have asked for in the past. I find the 1st one and the train policy very ironic. For them to not have been done before. Considering the Tory policy (and ukip and reform) was to take back control from Europe, it's crazy to think they've allowed European governments to take money from our energy and transport sectors and pump it into their own infrastructure.
On your first point it is about energy generation. What we largely refer to as energy companies are resellers. No way any of those companies will be taken over.
I think the idea is to make money for the UK by supplying them from a UK owned generator and reinvesting it back into energy networks rather than private shareholders. Eventually allowing a uk owned energy supplier to emerge which would dilute the monopoly other energy companies currently have. It'll increase the competition and reduce the overall cost to consumers. It would be the same with the rail contracts, reduce the pull that ROSCOs have and reduce the overall contracts going out to rail operators that don't benefit us. By having ownership of the rails and the services ROSCOs will still make their money and their levies on the freight network but won't be able to set out competing companies to bid for carriages and engines.
That was kind of what I was driving at in a fairly short reply. Some companies, like EDF are both resellers & generators. EDF are a nationalised French company, which seems to be the aim from Labour. It is a perfect idea, as it does not involve taking over resellers, who to be honest make a very slim margin. I was somewhat flumoxed when my supplier "Green Energy" went under due to the oil & gas crisis in Ukraine. I feel like I was lead up the garden path. Was then put on the general tariff of Shell, as a reward. The reseller market is utter ******** basically. Just Tory free market propaganda.
You always try to make everything about coulor and race. Plenty of white English folk myself included support Palestine. It was starmer who didn't have the balls to call for a ceasefire months ago shame on him.
Fair enough mate. It was the second time in as many days you mentioned it so I had assumed I missed something. The fact is she would be daft not to address these sort of issues face to face, a lot of those blokes will probably have friends and family in the area, or close by at least and will be personally affected by whats happened. I think it takes some real "balls" to do what she did considering plenty of labour mps were very hesitant to say anything about the issue with any depth, certainly for the first few months.
As far as I can see there's no nationalisation of electricity and gas. There's a long term plan to make the UK more energy stable, but from what I can see they aren't outright nationalising it.
