We did sign talented players. It might not have clicked yet with Kpekawa, but it's been 3 1/2 games or so. Talent comes in many forms. The jury is still out on Kpekawa, but I don't for one second believe that we signed him purely because we had no other option. You quote the Leyton Orient fans, saying they couldn't believe we'd signed him, some of the QPR fans were surprised they'd let him go. Swings and roundabouts. Everyone's got an opinion. Another example I'll use; the young lad Mottley-Henry who we signed from Bradford in the summer. Getting rave reviews in the u23's by all accounts; a Bradford fan at work was baffled that we'd signed him, and said he was extremely poor on any showing they'd seen him in. I completely see what you're saying, but at the end of the day Burke isn't exactly very experienced is he? One year in League 1 and a handful of games for West Ham no doubt in the Europa League or League Cup. That's about it. I've no doubt he's a quality player and he would play instead of MacDonald, but he doesn't add experience. He's just as likely to make a mistake as anyone playing in their first season in the Championship. And I doubt we would have been much more successful had he played instead of MacDonald. We're not shipping loads of goals, and conceded more per game in the few games with Mawson in the side than in the one with MacDonald in
Borthwick Jackson is currently 2nd choice to 24 year old Irish right back turned left back, Matt Doherty at Wolves who's previous clubs include Bohemians, Hibernian and Bury. 1) He can't be that great to kept out of team by a lad who isn't in his natural position, 2) if there was interest from clubs like Wolves why would he come here, 3) of course he will develop, thats the point everyone's making of course players develop with the more games they play at a certain level thats what people are saying about McDonald
We can't afford their wages full stop. Then there's Reece Burke. Another one who's eyes have seen the purples.
Yes but he's been primarily used as a left back this season, and CBJ as the Wolves fans call him has been suspect on occasion this season
''We've played the same centre halves for four games in a row and Doherty is an ever present (whether he should be is another question) so I don't think rotation enters into the equation now.'' ''Special mention to CBJ - for a lad that young I don't think that I have seen a calmer person in possession than him for a very long time''
Should have visited annabelles and spent his 37 quid there. It would be a more relaxing experience than his trip to bellend road
Read again "on occasion" never said they always sleight him, like many of them were asking for him to dropped before their game vs us after the Burton game where he made a mistake. Also that is the opinion of two fans (I'm assuming). Someone could take two fans opinion's off of here and claim that we don't rate Hammill or Hourihane or Winnall or Watkins or anyone else in the team because we all have different opinions, but yet the majority of us rate those players very highly. Either way, I advocate we give MacDonald time but I would like to see what Adam Jackson is like as a self-professed ball playing centre back.
You are absolutely right. Season tickets are going to be £1000 to pay for all these 100% ready and talented players Best get saving lad.
Be unfair to drop Kpekawa when he's got an assist in back to back games and not been at fault for conceding twice in three of our last four games.
Spoken to 7/8 Leeds fans since Saturday and not one of them has said that, doubt that the majority of them think that either, just morons at both clubs winding each other up
He's been pretty poor at doing his actual job of defending though hasn't he? Doesn't mean he won't improve but White and Hammill are a great combination and worl offensively and defensively and we need him bck as soon as possible.
All these players you are naming are no better and on a lot more money. Bet you tugged your little winky off when we signed Reece Brown.
Wouldn't say he's been poor at defending, dealt with Sacko pretty well on Saturday and other than the one wayward clearance didn't look that shaky, but his positioning and link up play is well behind White's atm and despite getting a pretty good assist on Saturday I would agree that White should come back into the team
I'm pissed and can't be arsed posting the link, but if you look at Squawka or WhoScored, two reputable statistical websites for football, Angus MacDonald is so far rated 7th in the division. Not for defenders. For every player. The 7th best performer in the division so far. Hourihane is 3rd. Roberts 9th. Yep.
