If everyone's available for selection, I'd go for:- Davies Williams Roberts Mawson White Isgrove Brownhill Hourihane Hammill Watkins Winnall
I'd go with that, except Scowen for Isgrove, who I think it's well documented I don't rate, something which is backed up by stats on his attacking productivity and what I see in terms of him losing possession and lightweightness. I'd also prefer one of our own to play instead of a loanee and I don't think Brownhill can be dropped. I accept that others see something I don't - perhaps because Isgrove usually seems to play better in home games in the first half down the East Stand side where there are more people than his anonymous and often curtailed second halves where I am in the West. He did well in both games at Fleetwood too. I also accept that Hecky will probably pick the team BigLil has listed, which is important because Paul has engendered a lot of trust through the way he has handled the caretaker role and carried on our run, so whoever he picks will be fine with me. Most important and pleasing of all is that, seemingly more so than for a number of seasons, we have positions throughout the team where we have more than one good option. This is epitomised by the full-backs where, in a few short weeks, we have gone from the despair of having to put up with Wabara and Nyatanga to the bounty of White, Williams and Bree. If everyone's available, in a good way I really don't envy Hecky's job in picking who's going to be on the bench with just five allowed and assuming one's a keeper. * - Edit, just seen that they changed the rule for last year's final to allow seven named subs.
looking like we could have a full squad to take to wembley. good problem to have, but a number of them will still be returning and could be a bit ring rusty. tbh i'm really not that ar$ed about the result. doesn't really mean anything, does it. personally i'd just like to come out the game injury-free..
