He would actually suit the style of play at Wednesday. His range of passing is superb.

Would love see him back at Oakwell. Different player to Perkins so can't compare them. Dawson goes missing on the ball so would be nice to have something different. Kelvin Etuhu needs another season in the middle of midfield before people can put him in the same boat at Drinkwater.

On his day Etuhu is a better player than Drinkwater.

Different type of player but as a DM I would agree. Etuhu on his day is all over the opposition like a rash.

When he doesn't have to touch the ball, aye.

Was a great stopper last season, granted. But he needs to take a man on, set up some goals and drive us forward before he can be classed as good as Drinkwater.

Perkins, Dawson, Etuhu, Jennings, Mellis, Cywka, O’Brien, maybe even Digby. If we play with wingbacks, that’s potentially 8 midfielders providing competition for 3 midfield roles. Or if we play 4-4-2, we will have 2 players for each position.

We needed to bring in another midfielder similar to Mellis, a player who brings flair/creativity to the side. Jennings in, job done.

I would imagine Flicker is now looking to bring in a defender or two (to replace Foster/Edwards), a striker (to replace Harewood), and a right back/wing back (to replace Stones).

Can’t see him paying a transfer fee/shelling out big wages on another midfielder. Anyway, the only realistic chance of Barnsley signing Drinkwater/Butterfield, would perhaps be on loan, with the parent club supplementing their wages.

If there are no goalkeeping vacancies at big Championship clubs/Premierleague clubs for Luke Steele this summer, we might have retained a squad which showed playoff form last season (when Flicker/Mellon/Scott took the reign). Hopefully Dale Jennings, along with the signings Flicker brings in over the next few weeks (plenty of free agents knocking about after the 30th), will make us even stronger, and take us to the next level (mid-table, not hovering around the relegation zone)

    A quality pre-season so far.

We don't need another CDM. Could he or Perkins play CAM though?

    Lee Butler

released by Donny just as we get to know Steele is maybe offski, so it could a straight choice between Butler and Carlo Nash.

    Re: Lee Butler

Quality laiker. But not so much better - if at all - than Perks, Daws or Yaya. And I would imagine he'd be on considerably more money than them. Would be a great signing for a Wednesday or Leeds though who have **** all quality in the centre of the pitch. Drinky and Butts with Perkins - the tarn trinity I called em.
Quite happy with our fabulous four now though thanks - Mellis, Yaya, Perks and Daws. With young Diggers and Reubs in support.
REIGHT MIDFIELD. Until January and they are ALL able to negotiate a move elsewhere (the foursome that is)
