I don't know, that was just an example I gave as they've said how much of a drain immigration has had on our country.

I doubt they'd support the NHS in the ways I would want. As I've said previously I think UKIP are hard line Tories

'But do they support the NHS?'

A cursory glance at the UKIP website confirms that yes they do, although like anyone with an ounce of sense they also realise elements of it desperately need reforming.

Re: One point seems to have been missed here...

How did the council know what the couple's political views are and who they vote for. It is, as far as I am aware, illegal to include such a question on a application form. The thread seems to contain posts that seem to justify people being refused on the ground of their politics. That is totally wrong and is a slippery slope towards a totalitarian state

How did they know? Apparently a right-thinking and ambitious Brownshirt informer out in the local community gave a Local Council Sturmbannfuhrer an anonymous tip off that these two villains had recently joined a legitimate political party that unfortunately had views which differed from 'the correct way of thinking'. Thankfully the Council swooped immediately to prevent the fostered children being looked after as well as they could ever have hoped to be in a warm and loving family environment. Stories like this, and the light they shed on the direction in which this country is gradually headed, make me shudder.

To be fair, the 'looney left' are being criticised on here and accused of demonising right wing parties but I think most people have put forward a reasoned debate. If anything it is those who are on the right are choosing, somewhat hypocritically, to demonise the 'looney left' and public sector institutions. The discussions about UKIP have been very balanced as far as I can see.

It seems as though the idiot that made this decision has very little support from any political party; I wouldn't be surprised to see some 'resignations' over this. The more I hear about it the more I am staggered that at no point in this whole sorry saga did anybody have the common sense to stop what was happening.
