I think it was the 2-0 loss at home. When their fans infiltrated the terrace, then were wanging pint pots of p155. Into the ponty and trying to storm it. They may have succeeded if I remember rightly. Certainly scattered a few.
I remember him well. He was a very good player and ask all fans similar to my age ,can you remember him sad to say not many remember him. I'm getting on I guess.
I was at Upton Park in 1980, Ian Evans header put us in front if I remember? That night wasn't for the faint hearted from what I recall... running a gauntlet back to the coaches! Year before; I'm sure there was an article in the Chron about a group of them nicking pool balls from the Dove which they duly launched at our lot later. Those facts made it sweeter when we stuffed them in the Cup - at half time they left in droves! I can still vividly recollect them all trudging up the car park lol. Plus when we ended their 21(?) match unbeaten start to the season in, I think, 89/90.
It was the Saturday before Christmas. We won 1-0, with Mark Smith scoring. It was the 1990/91 season.
The first game I attended was Bradford City at home in 76 and Otulakowski had just gone. Our fans continually booed Kenny Brown which was fairly common for the other home games that season and yet he won Player of season ( I think ! )
He had in the previous season, 1975/76. Brown, sadly, was the perpetual target of the boo boys throughout his Barnsley career.
Bet it's both a blessing and a curse though... There are a quite a few games over the years I'm glad I have no recollection of!
Dint Outalakowski hit bar or had a shot just over the bar if I recall reight. Scuffles in corner around kick off time felt that.
