He wasn't the best player in the world, far from it. but I think he was a better player when he left than nyatanga/souza were when they joined. Having said that, I think that both Souza and Nyatanga have a great future as they both have potential but I think to get the best out of them they need to play alongside an experienced centre back that they can learn from, playing them together as a defensive pairing will not work out long term in my opinion
Ok i'll give you that then, but he did come from another country and was getting used to the country. He is a far better player than AK now though. My earlier comment was a bit daft though, I'll admit.
Thats all that Souza and Nyatanga have done recently hoof it aimlessly upfield just like Kay. All three at one time tried to play the ball out by picking a pass. Another local lad Morgan was also accused of the big boot but fans can`t say he`s found his level because he went the other way. Butterfield and co might aswell start preparing for abuse they will get whether they are any good or not.
Purely on football he could have stayed with us and been a decent squad player. But how many games would he have played? Foster, Nyatanga and Souza would all be above him in the pecking order. Also there was an obvious clash of personalities with the manager and his disciplinary problems (whatever happend). He had to go. Good luck to him though. Always liked him when he played. Probably more suited to L1 though.
I know what you are saying I think he's mainly in league 1 as his commiutment and attitude are questionable. Not his ability The thing was Kay was every so often he made mistakes, unfortunately so does Souza
Not so long ago he was the bee's knees. Won every end of season award during that grim era when people like Morgan jumped ship. At least he was loyal to his home town club.
