Sports Cars????? I've got an estate car!!! Must say though had a test drive yesterday in an Audi TTS cabriolet left hand drive. Lot of money for not much car. Will be sticking with the estate for now.
Depends on how you define "sports car" Never had a traditional 2 seater sports car - but had several sporty versions of "normal" cars - e.g. years ago I had a Ford Sierra Cosworth which used to have a picnic table attached to the rear windscreen. Also had a Rover, Cougar and a Probe, until I was persuaded to get an Audi estate car. After yesterday I think I have got the Audi TT out of my system for good. It reminded me of the dodgem cars at Poggy feast about 35 years ago.
RE: Depends on how you define "sports car" Well I had a vision of you in a Triumph Spitfire or something similar. Personal number plates?
Never had a personal number in UK Far too expensive and pretentious in my opinion. Got a German one on the Audi though (still registered over here). Cost just £6 on top of the normal price. The way fuel prices and taxes are going my next car may be a Trabant or a Reliant.
RE: Never had a personal number in UK Personal number plates - for people who can't remember their names. Don't mind initials too much, but the worst ones are the ones that spell a name - but only with the use of a number, or a carfully placed bolt You know, like "14N" or "5TF.VE".
Best Tactics Are... Buy the car first, wait to see what the number is, then change your name to suit. Far cheaper.
Get real do what any sensible woman would Mazda MX5 - pot the husband & kids Well thats what I've done other than Mr Ali shelled out for it
RE: I dont do car advice for men Wot? The men or the cars are too mysterious? What with all this road tax business and rampaging fuel prices I am thinking of buying a Trabant but I'm worried it will be a "babe magnet"? Anyway you are like most women, including the missus. Duck out of the decision, then criticise when the man goes and buys something silly
Thats rubbish !!! Our LPG does equivalent of approx 80mpg. My old Rover Diesel does 60mpg and thats a 2 litre.
Guess I'm not like most sensible women Things like cars, shoes, shopping, designer clothes etc just don't do it for me. A car is a means to get from a to b - I'm just not fussed. I am fussed when they start costing alot in repairs though. Want to see the hen weekend photos?
Toyota Verso 2.2 Turbo Diesel Had Mine 2 1/2 years from new very nice car, very reliable, getting about 48 to gallon just running round town, went to Banbury a week ago on a quiet day, set cruise to 60 (motorway most of the way) got 76 to gallon. Insurance not bad (but then I am old budger) car tax £185. Shifts a bit when asked, gunned it up Harbro Hills Tother day and reached a speed higher than a BMW 2.3 that I used to own ever did. If this dunt suit check out the new Toyota Prius £15 a year car tax.
With all these hikes in car tax... do you get a reduction if you've converted to lpg? I only see engine size being outlined but a big engine guzzling lpg is going to be far greener than a small car sipping petrol. I'm all for these green taxes... but only if the rest of the world follows suit. I don't see why we should pay a fortune, reducing our quality of life and jeopardising UK businesses when the rest of the world is tearing around in great big trucks, almost regardless.
Are you talking to me, or to everybody? If to everybody, get them posted on here. If to me, get them emailed without delay.
RE: Are you talking to me, or to everybody? I was talking to Alityke actually.... but I suppose I could be bribed into sending you a link. (raiseaglass)
