I'd have killed for a test locally rather than having to learn roads around Wetherby, Leeds, York and Knaresborough. It was a bloke called Keith small fella with glasses think he was from Ackworth
Keith still with us Top Top Instructor. I'm Andy and our paths will have crossed at some time as Keith started at LnT a few months after me. It is stressful but a bit more relaxed from our place. Pass rate significantly better as well.
Drive 70,000 miles a year and I find HGV drivers believe if they put on an indicator it gives them a divine right to pull out. They also seem to believe until they overtake they should drive 2 metres from the vehicle in front. I followed one idiot on the A19 (dual carriageway) and it took him a total of 14 miles to overtake his compatriot. In otherworldly 'bugger everyone else, I'm going to overtake. I have had a clean license for 52 years, a NCB since 1964, and in the 60s and 70s HGV drivers were certainly the Krights of the Road, but today...........
I'm afraid you have the idiots who give the industry a bad name but the same can be said in other walks of life. To pass your test you have to be able to drive to a high standard. After you pass you should theoretically keep driving to the same standard but as we all know it never happens as often as it should. Some of the car drivers on the road today are a menace.
