We did. Once on the ridge the walk is not as challenging. A 10 mile walk at the age of 6 is bloody amazing mate.
On the Kinder Scout plateau, Derbyshire. I camped there a few weeks back, bloody freezing it was! I was expecting my tent to be invaded by some mad women during the night, but sadly it didn't happen. Not even in a dream. You can reach the stones from Edale by climbing up to another well-named group of rocks, Ringing Roger. Then turn east, follow the path along the plateau edge until it curves back west at Crookstone Knoll, then you're near the stones which are slightly off the path. If you want you can yomp across the plateau to find them, but it's unpleasant walking and dangerous in bad weather.
