I'd say that if you was trying to sell a shop you'd want to make sure it had as many customers as possible to show potential buyers that the shop has a lot of potential to make money. I wouldn't be making cut back after cut back to show that my shop with just mrs jones and betty from round the corner as customers breaks even with a turnover of £2.80 a day which is how the club seem to be running things at the moment.

    Just my thoughts like.

Does he not watch any property shows on TV? You spend a little cash to tart the place up to encourage a sale!

Thats why it makes me wonder how far away the potential takeover actually is. You wouldn't go spending money on a shop if you knew it was to be sold, that would be silly, but as mentioned above anything spent now is surely an improvement on whats being offered to potential buyers.

So we aren't spending money because an offer is being considered and would not be prudent to spend more OR we aren't spending as, typical Barnsley, we are trying to spend as little as possible regardless of whether or not it would facilitate a quicker sale or higher sale price??

And late on last season, and near the beginning of last season when I asked someone from the commercial department (oh i'm sorry I wasn't aware of this, i'll make sure theyre on every game in future) and also back when Rob Knowles was first starting out at the club too.

Re: I asked about the televisions for you

Thanks biglil. What worries me slightly is that the managing director of the club isn't aware that such a basic instruction is being ignored pretty much every week. If as he claims he is instructing people to turn the TVs on every match then my question is why the hell isn't it being done? And how can it have gone unnoticed by the person responsible's superiors for so long?

There really is no wonder that the catering and overall match day experience has been allowed to continue being so poor for so long if seemingly nobody at all bothers to check the standards of service and experience (sorry mr C) that the customers have to experience at matches. It is like the store manager at tesco never stepping foot out of his office and after 6 months walking out and being shocked that cartons of eggs are all over the floor and toilet roll is hanging across the tops of aisles in a store with no lighting. It simply wouldn't happen and i'm shocked to find that it happens at a multi million pound business.

Simple fact is that the managing director is instructing certain things to be done and after years and numerous complaints these basic things are still not being done and nobody is even checking whether or not they are being done. apathy at best, incompetence at worst unfortunately.

Interestingly the main detractors of these gatherings are the ones that don't go.

Forgot who it was but someone their lives in hull.

No one is saying you can't have an opinion, but I think its also fair to state that the level of openness shown by don won't be printed on here and some of us are probably digesting the evening and thinking before posting so as not to balls up the confidentiality (me being one)

Re: Don walked into the meeting

    Brilliant.

Is it just me or does it seem that while Don Rowing might not be the best at expanding a business or thinking things up and planning at short notice (such as ticketing arrangements for big games), he is really really good when he's had time to plan a little and a great public speaker in that kind of environment?
