Three away matches on the bounce , three away wins

3-1 @ Plymouth , 1-0 @ Portsmouth and 1-0 @ Exeter . Plymouth by coach , Portsmouth by train , Exeter by car . God I was daft and young in those days !! :D

They were bloody good days to follow the Reds though. Good support - plenty of singing etc - and a good team to watch. I went to Exeter on a coach and we ended up in Gloucester on the way home. By the way, did you once ask me in a previous thread about my Worsbrough roots? I seem to remember reading your enquiry whilst going through a few threads and thinking 'ah well! it's a few days ago now' so i thought better of it.

Possibly , age plays tricks on my memory these days

I went to Worsbrough High School from 1971 to 1977 . But it wasn't a particularly happy time for me , due to bullying and not having any real friends there .

    White Cross........

I left there in 1981 so it's possible we may know each other from years in the village. Soz to hear about the bullying. Worsbrough High seemed to attract the bullying sorts and i think we used to get the expulsions from other schools on occasions. Did you suffer the 'bumps' in the opening week of your first year? I heard this tale well before i got in the first year and i seem to remember dodging the older bullies in my first week - avoided the bumps got got me head shoved down a toilet, and flushed, by a certain gentleman who ended up working behind the Chennells bar in the early eighties (lower bar). I'm a Daler. You a Brigger or Daler lad?

Nah , I had to pass my 11+ to go there

Dodworth born and bred . It was due to the fact that I'm from Dodworth that started the bullying from the older , local lads .
It's possible I was in the Upper Sixth when you were in the first year . Were you in the same year as Steve Agnew ?
