The only annoyance with him for me was when he had the ball with about twenty seconds left of injury time, and instead of launching the ball into the box he tried to nutmeg a number of Donny players marking him.
Same old, had C'OG scored the penalty, buried his header and M'Voto hit the target with 1 of the 3 or 4 good chances he had, we'd have been saying we were amazing, but we didn't so we're *****.
But we didn't. That's the most important part of your post archey. The rest is ifs and buts, which is all we have to hang onto most weeks. We aren't good enough. Feel free to keep believing we are though, it's your right as a fan.
We didn't score, they didn't score, we missed a penalty, cue the depression and overreacting. How was the Butterside Stadium?
We played with 10 men on the left wing and Jim O'Brien on his own trying to do everybody elses job on the right wing. The only tactic we have at the club is 'kick it to Chris O'Grady's head on the left wing' McCourt is skilfull but clearly out of his comfort zone on the left wing. He is also the greediest player I've ever seen. Would rather take their entire 11 on than make a 6 yard pass. Apparently Fox played. I wondered who that was stood 6inches to the side of Perkins and doing **** all. Perkins is *****. MVoto played well but he'll not have an easier game all season. Doncaster fell to bits whenever they got near our goal. 4 or 5 free headers missed by donny All 11 barnsley players in our own box while defending corners. Pathetic Flitcroft is tactically awful and appears to be playing for 0-0 draws. Hope he's gone soon.
MCCourt if I were him I wouldn't pass either as everytime he passed into space our player was standing still instead of moving. O'Brien offered nothing in an attacking sense so no change there. Everything is is pretty accurate.
I'm sorry but this has to be a joke. Perkins' passing OK but McCourt's poor at times??!! Fox is a good passer!!?? As a guy sat near me said, the only reason to be at Oakwell these days is to see McCourt. He is a very special player who will almost certainly be gone in January. Never mind, at least we'll be able to savour Perkins' passing. FFS.
Glad you asked me this. It was cold. Like, proper cold. Funnily enough, it's one of the few Championship grounds I've never visited so was nice to tick it off the list or whatever. But yes, proper cold. I met SkySports reporter David Craig. I say 'met' when in reality, I held a door open for him and he never thanked me. The basterd. I saw Ravanelli. And as we were making our way out of the players lounge, Zola was walking in. He gave me a look you'd expect an old friend to and I nodded back. But for all the whingeing about how bad BFC are, I'm not kidding, Boro are worse. Absolutely no creativity in central midfield. A porous, error prone defence. Reliant on one man for the goals. In fact, they are very similar to us! Similar crowds, too. About 13,000 there. Watford were a joy to watch, as ever. But they weren't as clinical as they were against us, and once Jacob and George Friend came on in the later stages, Boro finally had some quality and rescued an undeserved point. Hoping a new manager comes in during this break, for selfish reasons of course. Because Butterfield not getting in that midfield is as bizarre as Mellis getting played out wide for us. Managers eh? Those who lack bravery, those who fear the opposition, are usually in charge of clubs at the wrong end of the table. Seen the extended highlights of our game, and it appears to me we were unlucky? Obviously, that was just a 14 minute condensed version so forgive me if the other 75 minutes was gash. It probably was. I've seen a lot of that at Oakwell this season. And at the last two Boro games. I think I ought to go back to Spotland. King Keith knows how to entertain the fans.... ps - Thanks for the replies/reports. Be back at Oakwell for Birmingham. You reds etc.
Didn't go with the scarf, despite Neil Maddison advising me to. I forgot it. Didn't forget the cans of lager for the drive up, though. £3.70 for a bottle of Bud in the players lounge! I'm billing the lad for that.
Aye, it'll be nice to earn a wage without spending £80 a week on getting there. But I still object to paying that for a bottle of Bud.
You didn't miss owt, apart from 2 or 3 excellent McCourt runs, but I see they've already been put on a youtube video. If you're going to miss a game, this was definitely the right one. We haven't got enough quality in the middle of the park. After 10 minutes of the second half I would have been tempted to take off Fox, move McCourt in to the centre and bring on Cywka down the left. Donny didn't have owt in 'em, I don't think Butland made a single save, so we didn't need two holding midfield players. We should have still won though, missed a penalty and a number of other chances. M'Voto played well (again). He's improved a hell of a lot as the season has gone on. Still don't think we'll go down, still don't think we have owt to worry about even though we're in the bottom 3, and still think we've been the better side in the majority of the games since Flicker changed things around against Leicester. The results aren't coming yet, but I believe they will. Or I'll be wrong and he'll be sacked. We'll see.
