I have been to Sweden several times and you are being stereotypical . Your videos are misleading you .
What was the wage comparison when Barnsley beat Liverpool in the fa cup ? or the same comparison when we beat Chelsea in the next round ?
**** me, we're in the semi final and still folk moaning ! embrace it no matter whats put in front of us, we've exceeded our expectations and well done england
We were a lot better than Sweden. I don't think we are one of the four best teams in the world. But tournaments don't always play out that way. I think it would be fair to say we are massively overachieving and I for one think that is fantastic.
I’ve never known individual player wages be a measure of a teams performance capability vs another. History would tell you that many high profile, high paid players have come unstuck against well organised, motivated teams. Ask Ronaldo, Neymar, Messi etc. Also I think a balanced view of our teams performance is ok. By balanced I mean evaluating the pros and cons of our performance and taking account of the situation and opposition. I think you will find that the positive far outweigh the negatives. Pickford small ... yes but it’s actually had zero effect on his performance and his agility, focus and nerve has shown he’s one of the best in the tourney and clean sheet in a qtr final. Alli not in top form, yes, but despite that he scored a goal and grew as the game went on in confidence. sterling not scoring, yes, but runs defences ragged, carries the ball and takes team forward, gives defenders something to think about, created something from rabbit holes, pull defenders out and makes space. It all depends if your only looking for the negatives you will find em.oh and to answer, I thought England played the perfect game for the circumstances yesterday.
Exactly, sorry Nudge , we’re Savin ourselves for Croatia, use it when you need to , don’t waste it , it’s a hard thing to do game management
On what basis? How often do Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea etc beat Wigan & Hull 7-0? Sweden finished above Holland in qualifying, knocked Italy out in the play offs, finished above Germany in the group & then beat Switzerland in the last 16. Any win over them is a good one
I think we should just enjoy the moment. I was 18.when we got to our last world cup semi final in Italy. My step daughter are 18.and 13 and are loving it and I want them to enjoy and remember every moment. They have even had the grace to say that should we lose on Wednesday that they will return home as heroes any way.
Well said. I was 16, had just done my GCSEs and the summer of 1990 is one of the best memories I've got. Like you describe with your family, my lad is 17 and football mad, and is making similar memories. Even my wife has bought into it all. Outside of Argentina, Brazil and Germany, reaching a WCSF is a fairly rare occurrence for the vast majority of football nations. This year is our turn, we deserve it and at 43 years old I'm going get what I can out of it too.
51 replies and counting for this waste of BBS space. Come on guys, ignore this troll. You know it's just a wind up.
Based on that theory, the Reds wouldn't have reached the FA Cup semi in 2008....it would not have been possible to beat Liverpool and Chelsea...perhaps they shouldn't have bothered turning up with the result being determined by wage scales.
I suspect that is why you never made it as a football manager. You could have made it big apart from the fact that you have bugger all ability.
I mean, he's big enough to cover every square inch of the net, but apart from that he's not big enough. Do you have some shelves you can't reach or summat?
You know Nudger has a syndrome whereby he overplays the importance of height to compensate for his own inadequacies in pretty much every other area. I guarantee that he was the tallest lad in 'his' year at school
Jordan Pickford 6’1”. Too short... A few examples of England keepers same height or shorter: Bert Williams 5’9” Ron Springett 5’10” Peter Bonetti 5’10” Peter Shilton 6’0” Ray Clemence 6’0” Gordon Banks 6’1” Two of Barnsley’s best ever: Clive Baker 5’9” David Watson 5’11”. Jorge Campos 5’6” 130 International caps Iker Casillas 6’0” 167 caps The average height of a professional goalkeeper is 6’1”. Years gone by shorter than that. But some people on the internet say Pickford is too small so nudge jumps on it... Er, no. Not really. Comfortable win against an obdurate and solid opposition with rigid shape and who were well organised. The only thing worse than a WUM is a bad WUM. And you are shocking.
