The formation and style of football are completely different and it's obviously for the better. I think the whole Hillcroft thing looks like a bit of a myth. Clearly the berk was calling the shots and Flitcroft was doing his bidding. Flitcroft is now stamping his authority on the team.
I think it was the obvious decision for the board to make based on the 2 knockbacks we have had - we needed a decision and some stability and could not afford to keep messing around. But it is bizarre to see so much *****ing of joy on here about his appointment - you'd think we'd landed Jose Mourinho. I wish him well and will get behind him 100%, and hope everyone does, but if in 5 games time we are still routed to the foot of the table after 4 more defeats then I am sure that the fickle nature of fans will mean that the bile will be back quickly. Because of his association with Hill he won't get much of a honeymoon period - 2 defeats and it will be gone. I would have preferred his appointment to be a deal until the end of the season - if nothing changes and we go down he wouldn't inspire me with hope that we'd come back up.
The wins against Burnley and Leeds and the overall performance at Peterborough didn't do Flitcroft's chances of getting the managers job any harm. When Hill was sacked Flitcroft could have have said ******** to it and walked away knowing that SOD and Butcher were the clubs 1st and 2nd choice and that there was a reported 50 plus applicants. He could have even picked sides to lose and make things worse for an incoming manager. Instead Flitcroft took on the challenge, and produced a turn around in fortunes. How long it will last who knows? The results we have had under Flitcroft won't be the only reason he has been given the job. The board will have sat down with him and discussed his ideas and visions for the club moving forward. He brought Mellon in and I'm sure will have indicated to the board the players he wants to bring in and the ones he thinks should be moved on.
Survive or go down I think an appointment to the end of the season would be in no one's interest. We need some stability and we need the ability to plan beyond one transfer window to the next.
Flitcroft has worked his knackers off for this club and fully deserves the opportunity. I am very excited about the appointment for one simple reason: we will fight for every point under David and we will have every chance of retaining championship status. If we do go down it won't be with a whimper, as I feel it would have been under Hill I'm looking forward to matches for the first time this season. Good luck Flicker
1) Back to back clean sheets which was rare for Keef. 2) A win in a cup competition which was rare for Keef. 3) 66% win record which is twice as much as Keef got. 4) A win in a local derby in his first one after losing all 3 without scoring under Keef this season. Could we really say no to him?
its actually the only appointment we could have made. 3 decent performances and the fact we got turned down twice in a week made flicker the man. good luck to him as he's going to need it.
Re: what is difference between klonopin and celexa Cornell i Is this a copy of Neil Warnocks post match summary of yesterdays match?
flickers his own man let him get on wi job and lets all back him cause wi sounds he is just like us wants best for BFC
Completely underwhelmed. Either he is partly responsible for the **** we are in or he's been contributing **** all for the last year. I hope he is successful and he goes on to be Barnsley manager for years to come . . .I really really do. But I just can't see it.
Good question. Some things, yes. However, a bit like Flitcroft and Hill I have been working with my boss for years and think my ideas and things I wish to be implemented are so by a discussion with my boss. If things were going horribly wrong we would work together to attempt to solve it. If he left I wouldn't change anything much, if he got the sack for whatever reason I think the question would be asked of me "what the **** were you doing while the **** was hitting the fan?"
Yes Im underwhelmed by the appointment, it certainly doesnt excite me. But come on, the two refusals (S'od & Butcher) and our league position meant that we had to appoint quickly while there is still something left to fight for this season. And the Burnley & Leeds wins and clean sheets have certainly shown what the players can do when they want to, which we didnt see nearly enough under Hill. 'Flicker' hasnt got a thing to lose has he.
