Probably doesn't fit your criteria for being cheap though! But starting at £190 for a double room ain't bad for a place like that Depends how much you want to impress her!
RE: Lived there for 8 years, September 16th for two nights mate, the Friday and Saturday nights, going back sometime on Sunday.
Whenever I go up there these days something goes wrong for the Reds! Unfortunately, my flat is occupied then, sorry. It's also not dead central, being about ¼ mile from Hibs ground, between Leith Walk and Easter Road, so it probably wouldn't have suited.
RE: Whenever I go up there these days Do you know anyone who owns a nice hotel there and might do me a discount?! Or failing that, can you recommend anywhere? Preferably no more than £100 a room/per night as I'm skint
I used to know a couple of people that had hotels but have lost touch with them There are some nice small hotels in Newington, which have views of Salisbury Crags and Arthur's Seat. If you remind me tomorrow evening on here I'll phone a couple of friends to see if they know anyone.
RE: I used to know a couple of people that had hotels but have lost touch with them That would be brilliant mate, will do
Try Activehotels.com I stayed at the Radisson SAS Hotel slap bang on the Royal Mile. Really nice hotel. Its about £135 a night tho. Try the Best Western too. Dean
That's only a 5min walk into the city centre though from Easter Road...but it's up a proper steep hill lol...not good when drunk!
On Kirkby Red's stag do............... .........we ended up in the gay quarter. My phone went down (ooer) and I had to go to the phone box a lot. They kept walking past doing meaningful "I could work wonders for you" looks. Heh. The disco downstairs hosted the city's only Gay Teddy Boy Night and check this - Ladies and gentlemen, currently occupying a worlwide niche with a population of one - Gay P.akistani Teddy Girl! Yes, Gay P.akistani Teddy Girl. Bless her. What a heroine. To this day I wish I'd talked to her. Ne' mind though, I didn't sober up all weekend so I'd probably have made a sow's ear of introducing myself. Aye, it's a bit barmy that Edinburgh.
