I can cope with Loch Ness, even the Moray Firth. But there's no way I could handle that without losing the contents of my stomach!
TBF On the Northlink ferries most the furniture tables and chairs are all bolted to the floor. It's only the passengers which are flung all over the place. It is amusing to see people bouncing off of walls and each other but a hellish feeling inside.
Errrr hello... remember when we travelled 6 hours on a hydrofoil to meet you (not get there in time) in Venice?? That was our journey. Whilst you sat there feeling sorry for yourself on dry land, THAT'S what we were doing.
Yup, possibly the worst day on a holiday ever. Still, watching furniture fly around in front of you must have been ever so sightly entertaining ;-)
I think Mum and Dad were the only people on the boat watching. The rest of us were battling for chunder space. Yes, how we laughed........
There is no way the ship should have been doing that given the sea state - it was rough, but that ship is seriously unstable.
has it not got stabalisers... seems a bit daft to me as ships roll and lol all over the place but that ones doing it randomly... you can normally get some sort of rhythmical pattern to the rocking and rolling and its quite fun sometimes!..... mind saying that when its rough the best thing to do is take to bed.... in fact whens it calm the best thing to do is take to bed!
Stabilisers!!!! WTF Oh I forgot - Royal Navy, HMS Dauntless, mustn't wake the WE's from their sleep when it's roughers!!! Get yourself on a real ship - Royal Fleet Auxiliary - Only joking - that ship should never have put to sea, especially with paying passengers, way too dangerous. And I don't think stabilisers would have done much good in that sea. It was off New Zealand, we use the video as an example of not securing for sea!
Haha you've got a job to get the we's out of bed at the best of times let alone when it's like this mate! Securing for sea..... Right ball ache putting all my stuff away!
I'd best not mention the Comms Branch then, they only get out of bed to eat. Always makes me laugh down at Plymouth doing BOST and the FOST'ies getting a cob on cos a pencil is rolling across the desk - effing dangerous them pencils you know. The pillock never noticed all our chairs in the MCO had wheels on them!!!
They has us secured for action twice last week, got a misery on with my mate for exactly the same thing!
Coming back from the Gulf on Wave Knight a couple of years ago, we hit a right old storm just as we came through the Straits of Gibraltar. The whole Machinery Control Panel took off for a waltz round the MCR. apparently the look on the Engineers faces was something to behold. Someone had forgotten to put the bolts back to secure it to the deck during the last maintenance period. Amazingly only one cable snapped.
Table for two Sir. Yes we have one over here, errr no it's over there, there, there now there. Seriously, I'd have been puking my guts up on that. Except no I wouldn't because I hate water & I wouldn't be on it in the first place.
