    I think I'm correct in saying that the old friend of the common man Mr Spinks made a comment to the extent that &quot;we're running a football club, not a sunday team&quot; or words to that effect. I remember being on the bus to some away game and one the women that used to help run the buses was relaying the tale.</p>

    Worked out well when the ponty got redeveloped and those annoying fans with minds and opinions of their own were gone.

    ........ was probably 'old' Joan who was telling the tale, the woman who was only 40 at the time but looked 70 and still looks exactly the same now! ha ha, hope she doesn't read this - if you do Joan, you know me as 'Cuz' in real life!!!

    Oh and don't get me on again about good old Mr Spinks ...... deary me, I'll be on here all day recalling my 'discussions' with him over the years!!!!!
