    To be fair ...

... the insult wasn't because you didn't agree with me - it was because you did not grasp the very basic concept I was trying to describe:

    (1) AFC aim to climb into the Football League.
    (2) They are using the same facilities as a club that is already in the league.
    (3) Does this make any sense unless the two clubs are intrinsically linked?

It was very well documented why AFC was formed, although I would prefer not to comment on such things.

It was formed as a protest against Peter Doyle...

and he no longer owns the club.

Incidentaly,I plan to go tonight as it might make a refreshing change to come back from a match with change from a tenner and having seen 22 committed players...

RE: Kinell. You are a proper pudding on a stick.

not relly, if you want to hire a pitch or any of the facilities phone up and book it, BFC are a business and hire there facilities out.

I'm not saying that's the reason the club was formed ... but if it was - then why does the club still exist now that PD is no longer involved with BFC?

    AFC serves no purpose.

I take your point about 22 committed players ... but you could go to watch many other clubs who don't use BFC facilities.

I think it is very odd.

Listen to what I'm about to say ...

If a local rival wanted to hire the pitches next to Oakwell & directly compete with BFC - would it be wise to allow this to happen?

If you tell yourself something enough times, you will eventually believe it.

thank you kind sir, but tobe honest why should A.FC. now fold, we only play when BFC are away and i attend ALL barnsley,s home matches because i,m a season ticket holder, it would be nice if the only fixture clash came in the Prem or europe

they compete for the signature of our academy players.

As proven by the release of certain players whilst mr hancock was in charge of the academy only to go to AFC barnsley which was claimed by himself to be funded by mr hancock unless i am mistaken?

you are very mistaken and my friend as someone said the same thing on this board was told "you are on very thin ice making libelous statements like that". As to acadamy players name one acadamy player the A.F.C. have signed

    I give up.

I obviously can't make this clear to you.

Your logic states that BFC fans can afford to buy 2 season tickets each.

Your brains are either brand new or don't exist.

    what is libellous about it?

I did say unless im mistaken which i know i might be. Somebody that claimed to be Mr Hancock DID claim to fund AFC barnsley himself. That is a fact, the only thing that is of doubt is whether that person was who he said he was or whether he was just lying.

Carrington for one is an ex Acadamy player isnt he? Am i mistaken in thinking that he was released by barnsley fc and then signed by afc barnsley?

Which part of my statement was libellous? i would like to know so that i can apologise in full for making it.

    eh???

PLayers get released by BFC cos THEY'RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH don't they?

They can then sign for who they like. My guess is they'd prefer a team higher up the Pyramid, but if none come in, why not sign for AFC?

Altho I've never seen AFC (and don't intend to) I agree with everything Jedi has said on this issue. There's nowt wrong with him coming on and telling us when the next AFC game is. Ppl talk about all kinds of other teams (Liverpool, Rangers, Washday, etc) so why not the local non-lge outfit who were formed because of what happened at Oakwell? There must have been lots of effort in doing what they did, I see no reason to pack up now (esp since Chairman Gordon has stated the board won't rely on Cryne...and his only answer seems to be to raise tkt pricces for Forest, Rovrum, Oldham (yes, Oldham!) etc to £22 for the East Upper). With economics like that, we might end up without a football club anyway. I'm not paying £22 for 3rd division football.

Good luck to AFC. I hope they continute to provide passionate, affordable, senior football to the local community.

RE: Listen to what I'm about to say ...

AFC aim to get into the football league.
BFC play in the football league.
The people of Barnsley would then choose one or the other.

If that doesn't mean that AFC are a rival then I don't know what does.

Now if AFC stated that theor aim was to get to a certain lever, then become a feeder club to BFC - then everything would be fine.

The current AFC strategy is inherently flawed.

    Liverpool, Man U ...

Do these teams play at Oakwell?

The association between BFC & AFC is there for all to see.
    I think it's wrong.

Your opinion is your own & you are fully entitled to it.
