    2?

I think you need to read it all again.

I have not linked anyone to AFC, as I don't know anything about their poxy little club.

As I said from the start - I simply do not understand the purpose of AFC. It makes no sense.

oi. i take exception to that

a LOT of people did something about banrsleys plight. we raised a hell of a lot of money and i dont call that sitting on our hands and wallets. just because we decided to stick with barnsley fc and not set up a new club to take over does NOT mean we did nothing.

you should have a go at other BFC "fans"...

...for daring to spend any of their spare cash on the cinema, shopping, food or cigs, instead of giving all that they earn (and more) to BFC.

Call themselves fans? Our club is running at a loss and there's still ppl out there with money in their bank accounts. Scandalous.

If that's the case - then fine ...

... but without such a set up I'm sure AFC could not aim to 'climb the pyramid'.

Do you honestly not think it's all just a bit odd?
If not, fair enough, but something just doesn't add up.

    I take exception at that

What a lot of us did was give money to Barnsley FC, by direct donation or by fund raising or by joining the supporters society. Barnsley fans gave tens of thousands of pounds to the club which helped the club in its hour of need and helped it to continue to operate. We helped the club survive. I'm not getting in to an argument about the pros and cons of AFC, but i do know this: you setting up AFC did not help BFC in anyway, while people giving money to BFC did.

    Oh dear.

You need to have a long hard think about what you have just said.

That attitude is why AFC should not exist.

I respect the plight of Bob Geldof.

    Live Aid was brilliant.
But I also think that administrators waste some of the funds.
The next time they really need my cash - I will donate to the British Heart Foundation instead.

I hope you boys are better footballers than thinkers.

I am a mere country yokel...

now living in the big city, well away from any purported BFC/AFC affairs that don't get a mention on here.

From what I've read over the last 2 years, no, I've absolutely no problem with the arrangement whatsoever. If Cryne pulled the plug on BFC to divert all of his cash to AFC...well, that'd be HIS choice. I'd be a bit gutted, cos right now, I don't see how BFC can survive without a backer. PLayers like Howard admit they came to us for the money...so we're still paying top dollar. And while ever we have a "small" squad, we always seem to have half a dozen centre halves (while the crowd bay for us to buy another one).

We haemorrage money, then the powers that be (GS) tell us in the match programme the board (of 2? 3?) say they won't rely on Crybe. So that means they're relying on US. PUtting prices up is the universal panacea in football. I've had enough - I just can't afford to attend regularly (tho i've seen the 1st 3...thought I might as well, before the promotion bubble bursts!!)

can I ask a question? If a company is losing money, haven't they been known to sometimes REDUCE the price of the product? Does this EVER happen in football?

See, told you I was naive.

Barnsley actually reduced admission charges during the strike

    How's about that then.

You're clearly implying who is a "numpty" and im my eyes that lowers his reputation. It is also wrong. I'd get back to reading the noddy guide to libel if I were you before someone sues you.

I'm sure you know a ***** lawyer mind.

yes a new stand has been built

that looks totally out of character and is quite frankly in many peoples eyes an eyesore. It was built specifically for the purpose of allowing afc to progress.

    I see what you're saying ...

... but there is a glaring contradiction:

Let's just hypothesise that AFC are funded by someone to do with BFC ... why would you do that if BFC are so skint?
    I just don't understand it.

Whoever backs BFC has my full support.
Through tickets, shirts, sponsorship & corporate events - I think I do alot for this club.
My point is - why can't it just be stated out in the open what the purpose of AFC is? It's odd. Very odd.

I have no idea if that is actually the case ...

... but if it is then I, again, struggle to see the logic.

Can someone just tell me what the hell AFC is?
