Can't really see a league1/championship striker being to Billy Davies's liking, his eyes will be looking up the league not down

I heard they wanted Steele as well. The rumour I heard was £1.5 mil for both, which is well below market value in my opinion.

If they gave us £1.5 plus Tudgay and Henderson for COG I'd bite their hands off. I do rate O Grady though.

That would still be a good deal for BFC but don't see why they would want a Goalkeeper. They have a very good goalkeeper in Karl Darlow

Ha. 1.5m Yen, maybe. Not a chance. But theoretically speaking, as much as I love the guy, i'd drive him there myself and throw are lass in, for £1.5m.

Hope this is not true, best centre forward since Shipperley.

Depends who negotiated the deal with the pigs. If it was a certain ex-employee, he'll have agreed to a 50% sell on clause and they'll be well happy.

    Deja vu?

Twenty four years ago, our newly appointed manager (Mel Machin) sold our best striker, top scorer and most saleable asset to Forest (David Currie), even though we were struggling against relegation. The money was used to finance squad re building with the likes of Taggart, Fleming, McCord, O'Connell & Saville being brought in on permanent deals, alongside the loan signings of Gray & Glover.
    We successfully avoided relegation.

    78/27 Shipperley 35%
    152/33 Sheron 22%
    120/57 Butler 48%
    96/26 Aylott 27%
    94/18 Macken 19%
    46/20 Ward 43%
    36/13 O'Grady 36%
    107/32 Parker 30%

Stats say you're right, Stahlrost. But oh for an Ashley Ward or Micky Butler. And Trevor Aylott was more of a provider. O'Grady looks like he doesn't know where his next goal is coming from at present. Time to join Uncle Keith or Uncle David, I fear. Even Billy is not that silly.

Nothing like picking our bones clean, and Barnsley do not replace our good players, where and how much do we need to replace him. The club should say no while end of season.

    Even Aylott & Shipperley

Went through similar droughts and they were playing alongside better players, creating more chances for them. Stahlrost is correct, O'Grady is the best centre forward we've had since Neil Shipperley.

    Re: Even Aylott & Shipperley

I agree, Shipperley was a good striker in a good team and scored more goals as a result. Chris O'Grady will score more in time, he's having a bad spell but he's been injured and who knows how fit he is? Not sure he's the best in a one up front system but he creates chances for a fellow striker if present.

If we sell him we are going backwards, or downwards, or both. Having said that, I don't believe the rumours anyway.

Could we sell them David Currie again?
