    How about Interest Free Credit?

Do they have the right to change that rate? :D

    Don't worry

Unless you start billing the general public for your mortgage, gardening expenses and home extensions you're no MP :D

More people will start thinking in that way

directly as a consequence of the banking bonuses and the mp's expenses.

We can all play the game - but most of us (myself included) choose not to. In the current climate, I think that increaingly make me feel like an IDIOT.

He never mentioned being hard done by

He said he'd heard there was a loophole whereby he could have the debt that HE created wiped out because of some meaningless (in practice) wording mistake somewhere.

To look at it another way, would you support him in trying to claim back thousands from barnsley FC if a loophole was discovered whereby the cost of any season ticket taken out in the last 10 years could be reclaimed? Lets say because they used the word football in the terms and conditions and what we have had to endure was certainly not football.

Would claiming 1000's from BFC be supported? Or is it only when it's a 'faceless' company that he owes money to?

    How about Health Insurance Companies?

These organisations are well capable of digging up something in your Great Auntie Grizelda's Medical Records in order to avoid paying out on a policy you took out in good faith....

I really can't see any difference.

I stopped replying to your BS, but since you replied to mine...

As I said further down, I'd feel hard done by if my interest rate was doubled. And I don't condone what he's doing. If you take the time to read the rest of what I've put then you'll see I only support getting back the high, possibly unfair interest, if it's possible.

The point of my post was the guy asked for help. All people gave him was abuse. I don't care what the topic is. If it's something I don't agree with, or couldn't help with, I'd rather just ignore it than call him the scum of the Earth and bring up something which he had nothing to do with. I offered the guy some advice, I didn't say I condoned the actions. I suppose it may have been implied due to telling him where he can get better advice, but as I said above, the only part I agree with is getting back unfair interest, not the capital.

If something can realistically earn someone money, then it will be supported by someone who can make money out of it (ie a solicitor), just look at Sheff Utd vs West Ham. If he had a case against BFC that would get him some money, I'm sure someone somewhere would help him for a price. I, on the other hand, couldn't give a toss as it doesn't concern me.

Thanks for trying to shoot me down, but at least read what I've written before trying to get on my back.

Its based on technicalities in the Consumer Credit Act which has since been repealed

    It's possible to do it.

There is a strict prescription on the method of setting the Agreement up. If the credit provider has failed to adhere to the Act then technically the Agreement can be void. Any amounts paid can be recovered plus interest thereon.

You must however continue to make repayments during the litigation process.

not heard about this loophole in law with credit cards .but there is a scheme

that goverment have set up, basically if you are in mess with loans and credit cards they pay your debt off, which stops you getting in more debt ie charges and intrest on your credit.then you agree to pay the the money you already owe at a affordable monthly rate. try goverment website if intrested
