Re: why not take a large flask of coffee

My sat nav tried taking me up the M11 and A1 but I'm pretty sure not much of the A1 is lit so I carried on to the M1 instead, couldn't believe how quiet it was, felt like a dream sequence at times with this big wide open road lit up in an red/orange haze with nothing in front or behind me.

About 60 miles of road works in total on the M1 between Barnsley and London and I didn't see one workman yesterday afternoon or in the early hours of this morning.

What time did coaches get back to Oakwell at? If we've stopped using Gordons it's not a bad thing. Outdated looking coaches, many without a toilet on them.

Guessing around 3am with what others have said. Trouble with toilets on coaches are they are far too small and you often chucked all over the place making aiming difficult!

I'm a massive fan of trains for their comfort, speed and the toilets are generally excellent on the longer distance routes. If you buy the tickets at the right time then the cost is still reasonable compared with a coach. That might not have worked out so well last night though as you'd probably have to get a train to Donny and then get a taxi the rest of the way.

Despite being the first coach to leave Charlton we got back at half 2, work that out.
