This relegation has been coming for years. We've not performed well enough as a club, from top to bottom. And I don't hurt that much today because I was pretty much convinced we were relegated after the Leeds game. We put every attacking player available on the field during that second half but were unable to create a single chance because the players aren't good enough. There's no point getting angry that the players aren't good enough, it's just a fact and you have deal with it.

Almost all of those not good enough will be leaving the club in the summer. What we're left with are some promising youngsters and a few experienced players (O'Grady, Steele, Cranie) who are good enough. If I was a manager I wouldn't mind being left with that and then be given a clean slate to start again. It's a chance to do things right. To identify players with potential and nurture them rather than rely on the loan market. It's a chance for the new board structure to show what they're about after a season of putting out fires left by what went before. It's a chance for a very experienced manager who has had teams performing at league 1 level time and time again (5 play-off seasons to date) to finally get the chance to show us what he's about. There could be some exciting times ahead for our club and relegation might be the making of us. If those in charge blow it they can blame no one but themselves. We'll see.

shame some of the kiddies on here cannot see that too... I thank you totally for yet again giving some reason to our situation. Now would you also nip up to Dodworth and mek sure JLWBL is OK... I am worrying right now

 

You know what? Promotion came too early for us 8 years ago and shocked us all! We have been hanging on with our finger tips ever since.
