Imagine rather queueing (meaning time off work and petrol to get to Oakwell) in the rain than paying £2.40. Worst excuse ever
Exellently put. Some teams still haven't played at Wembley. This is only our 3rd in over 125 yrs. as mentioned it's not just a day out for us fans, it's a chance for most of our players, most of which probably won't get the chance again to fulfill that little boys dream and play at Wembley
You tell my 7yr old boy it's embarrassing/ meaningless he's chalking off the days on his calendar. Reminds me of me when I was his age. It's what we are all in it for. There's no guarentee we'll ever get there again in any of our lifetimes
I'm not going, if it was the FA Cup or Play Offs I probably would make more of an effort to be honest. Expensive weekend though.
But yet you make great efforts and expense to see a German game.if BFC are the club in your blood that's baffling IMO.
After the FA Cup semi final I made a vow that I would never go to Wembley again. It's horrible to get to, and I dislike the stadium. That said, I can remember standing in the away end at Spotland in about 1975 in the crappiest (then) stadium I've ever been in and when the Reds win away, it's always a good atmosphere. We shall be combining the footy with a late celebration of Kaht Junior (the younger)'s birthday, and fortifying her in her ongoing battle with Jeremy (C)Hunt. The centrepiece of the day will be the game on Sky - oh, and maybe just the odd shandy bass! I hope everybody that goes down has the most fabulous of days - I know we will (champers will be on ice.................... just in case!).
I'd be more interested if they renamed it this! Give it a bit of an edge. "We've just won the Johnstones f*cking Paint Trophy"
I find these comments bizarre. What about the FA Trophy, Vase etc, do you think the same about those? Should they be scrapped because all the clubs are mediocre or worse? It gives us 'mediocre' clubs, which let's face it, we're one of, a chance to win a trophy at the most famous stadium in the world. I don't see why it's embarrassing to be in the competition, we are where we are. Bigger clubs like Coventry and the Blunts were in it, only we've done better than them and got to the final. I'm not saying it's a great competition or should be a priority, and unless you get to the Final it's pretty worthless, but now we've got there I'm surprised by this sort of attitude.
Not only is it a chance to watch my team at Wembley but I'm looking forward to traveling down with 12 other mates having a few beers in London on Saturday night then up for the game the next day, bring it on, I can't wait, :-D
