I haven't seen us win there since. That JCR game was the only time we've won there since then and I missed it. Seen us win at Hillsborough a couple of times before that game, but not since.

It's Barnsley. At Wembley. In a final.

I've not been to many games this season, for a lot of reasons, but it never crossed my mind that I wouldn't be going to this.

Both my Grandads supported Barnsley all their lives, neither got to see them play at Wembley let alone win anything.

Some lifelong reds could seriously live to regret their, dare I say, "snobbish" attitude to this cup.

I'm not going. Not because I don't want to. I just can't due to other commitments. Gutted tbh.

Reading this ..........obviously more stopping at home than going

Which dosent surprise me - at first I only expected about 15k tops. But probably be more than that now.

Its not a match that's really set the town on fire like other Wembley visits and Cardiff

    tahh Ponty :)
this is a difficult subject for me because im as excited as you all are and i cant wait for the day of the final and the match itself. i would love to be going but certain reasons beyond my control mean i cant. but various fans who i talk to and say this to, just come up with the usual negative critical stuff. and it bothers me.

to all our fans though who regularly spend time and effort and money to watch our team away from home, i have absolute respect for you all. ok, rant over!!

    Spot on Joey.

We are not Arsenal or Man U who seem to think they have a god given right to appear at Wembley and win things.

Every Red should take this opportunity to see our club at Wembley and have the chance to see us win silver.

Hopefully we will be back in the play off final.

    no 'Ian' we wont!!
we wont be back there jock as we wont make the play offs this season, lets not get our hopes up eh.
everything we gain from now on is an improvement from where we were, just a few months ago.

Sloppy, football is a funny old game.

I'd like to think we could kick on and make the play offs. Nothing like having dreams mate. Would be great if it happened.

As you will have noticed my own team have had a nightmare or a season and are going down. Barnsley have provided one of the few bright spots of this season and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it.

Yeah you are right. Play offs might be a long shot but it is still possible. C'mon You Reds.

Its a bit of a long story mate.
I was sitting watching SSN and footage of the Hume/Morgan incident come on. I decided to make a comment on it on Tykes Mad. This was also around the great FA Cup run with us beating Chelsea and Liverpool. I was well received on Tykes Mad and thanked by the posters. One in particular made conversation with me and as I have relatives in Chesterfield I made it to a game to meet up and see the team. This was a 1-3 defeat to Plymouth. A right **** game but I just got the feeling this is an English team I'd like to follow being a person who really has no interest in the bigger sides in the league.
Since then I've had the pleasure of meeting up with many great guys and girls while visiting Oakwell. Your passion for the club spills over and I have been addicted.
I'll always be a Dundee United fan but given the opportunity I just love to come down to Barnsley, meet up with old friends and make new ones. Barnsley really is a great wee place. Doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

Of course its a 2 way thing. Since knowledge of me coming to visit Dundee United has gained quite a few new supporters one of which has come to Tannadice and Hampden with me to support the Arabs.

    Arabs and Tykes forever.

They were there last time didn't hear anybody complain then, or would you rather we just taken our 11,000 regulars ?
Every club has their special day followers I know loads that's been to Wembley finals that follow BFC .
If you don't want to go that's fine, nobody will think your less of a fan ,but you won't devalue it for me or others with your feeble excuses that it's not worth it , for me and family and others its well worth it and its a bona fide league competition that will go in the history books of the professional game and I will be there COYR

That's why you like Barnsley. You fancy biglil and he 'looks after you' when you come down here.

Don't worry, we all secretly fancy him. Except Crystal, she thinks he's weird.
