I had him - Not sure he was one of the best Hadnt realised until I moved darn south and found a new Dentist (on recommendation) who was so much better - still NHS in those days. First time he looked at my teeth it was like a builder looking at work done by O'Reilly on Fawlty Towers :)

    And me…
Didn’t know until recently that the dentist was incentivised by the treatment he administered back then which probably explains why I had a mouthful of fillings by the time I left primary school .
Toon actually got done for abusing the system.

That’s the only reason I do 6 month check ups. I’m absolutely terrified each time (have one tomorrow and I’ve been panicking for a few weeks now, I definitely need therapy!) but after going through horrendous pain and having to find an emergency dentist, I’m determined to stay on the books for when I need it again.

You didn't score the right stuff. I was maybe about 10-13 and had to have teeth out to "make room". Wow I kinda feared the gas mask, until Mr Benn invited me to go off and become an astronaut. I wish they were still offering the same service. I'd probably let some teeth go & pay for implants.

Creighton at Stairfoot was my dentist too. He was horrible!!
Maybe it was my outlook as a young un, i don't know, but he reminded me of that bloke off Running Man with Dustin Hoffman!

I know. This came in a satirical email I received this week. It's quite shocking when you realize.

I had him as well, Bill Blackburne in Victoria Road.

A few years back when I was teaching in Barnes, London, I was chatting to a lad who turned out to be Blackburne's grandson!

My mam was the cleaner at Creightons for years and my dad used to tidy his garden at his home in Darfield.

Last time I saw one of those, it was turning humans into cybermen.
