It's not him. Phil doesn't wear glasses. That's why he can't tell Winnall's a good player and why he thinks Kern Miller's still going to make it.

Townsend was shocking, one of the worst keepers I've ever seen.

Don't worry, I never take anythiing you say seriously. I was merely pointing out that admin can't do owt right, so you had a lucky escape.

Last night I used the new (to me) infraction system for the first time. I spotted that this thread was heading the way of many others, and gave Hemmsy a gentle warning. It seemingly worked, as he stopped posting.

However, what forum members don't know, unless we tell them is that this has happened. So we face a load of whining about stuff that has already been dealt with. Hemmsy was issued with a warning well before the posts questioning admin not warning him.

Be nice if people just let us get on with it.

I wasn't stopping you police anything. I never wanted owt policing. I was happy to debate with the lad. Keen to know what lucky escape I had though?

And you didn't answer my query regards the doctor.

Best ever Barnsley debut they can be no doubt really. To train so late in the week, have to get to know guys he'd not met before and to go on and play like he did was fantastic. We held out so long but when the first was in the floodgates could have opened and we could have been thrashed. We wasn't because of Luke Steele. Away from home against a champions league team at one of the most popular teams in the world.

Townsend I don't think is going to make it with us. At some point if Jack Walton really is so highly rated he's going to be the keeper on the bench.

On another forum i use, the mods have the ability to approve any posts he makes before they are visible to the general forum. Im not normally one for this sort of thing, but it might make things easier if any obvious wind up posts(like this one, even Mr Magoo could see where the opening post was heading) were "nipped in the bud" before things are able to escalate.

This way, Hemsy doesn't get baited, allows his rare insightful posts to be seen and saves other posters getting infractions.

Last night, I did consider deleting the thread. However, when that has been done before our actions have been questioned.

And to be fair to Hemmsy, he stopped, the minute he was warned.

The problem with Hemmsy though, as im sure your aware, is that although he will stop posting when warned/asked to, the fuse is already alight and it turns into 3 pages people trying to discredit his irrational(and sometimes Xenophobic) views. Ive tried to show him that they are discrediting his valid points(in the slight chance that he's not saying these things to simply wind up other posters), but this thread has shown that his agendas against the likes of Steele and Hassell are as strong as ever...

To be fair, though his comments are utterly bizarre and his agendas are well known, they are entertainingly so. By which I mean we have a 90 odd post thread which is, in parts, fun to read.
I'd contrast that with the constant drip of Johnson out, Johnson's rubbish thread ambushes we had recently which were unimaginative, repetitive and unhelpful at the time.
HT's anti german, anti age, anti Steele, anti Winnall, anti Hassell views are ridiculous but it's usually entertaining seeing them play out.
Or is that just me being voyeuristic?

Oh no, ive got to be honest, they do make me chuckle.

I just think that, as ive pointed out a few times, he does make a few interesting points and observations, which without the ******** he insists on crowbarring into every post could drive some good discussions. As it stands, its hard to see past his digs.

Also, im sure the players in question read the board(i know i would), and even if the player is thick skinned, it must be hard to ignore the constant digs.

And especially in this day and age of shortish contracts, i wouldn't want a daft post from a poster with an agenda to influence SSW(for example) to look for pastures new...

I agree. Although in HT's case his vendettas against certain players only tend to create a huge groundswell of support from everyone else for the player in question.
And I will admit he does make some good point sometimes and he clearly watches a lot of football at all levels of the club. He's entitled to his opinions but if they're patently ridiculous he's entitled to have em shot down.

Thats the frustrating thing. If he dropped the vendettas and thought before he posted he could be quite a good member of the board. His knowledge of what is going on at levels other than the first team for instance could be invaluable...

I used to think he was another posters alter ego devised to wind up the board, but it seems like alot of people have met him so that blows that theory out of the water. Quite a nice young lad as well by all accounts, so chuff knows where his crap online persona comes from...

Think it's right I set something right here.

Once again i'm apparently anti about a million things. I'm NOT at all. Quite simply not like that.

Once again other things i've put gets inputted into a thread quite simply not about them. I try to keep things separate but others like to dig things up and at me. Oh well, not problems there. Well maybe

Now time to say why I even post this. I was looking on the ''live score'' app on my phone and looking at points total's. If any of you know i've had this thing in my head since been relegated 20 month ago that 74 was the mark for play offs. Rather than looking at saying Barnsley need that amount of points I will often go to the table, see how many games Barnsley have played a do the calculation. x (Games) times 1.61 =, It's using that and thinking we aren't a great amount behind that at the start of January that lead me to tell people I still truly believed Barnsley Football club could still make the play offs like a mad person.

Anyone during this I thought i'd have a look at home many we'd conceded, scored..... and noticed that Barnsley were equal to anyone in the top 13. Not really good enough and then thought Barnsley had conceded about 5 goals too many at this point. So I then thought I wonder how many goals each goalkeeper had conceded. Been a little bit lazy I thought I'd ask on here if anyone remembers the games Townsend had played in the league. Thankfully someone posted quite quickly a list of games he had played (thanks that person)

After that I worked it out. That was easy enough and noticed that both goalkeepers hadn't conceded a crazy amount LIKE IN RECENT YEARS. That's why I put what I did. It wasn't a dig at anyone and if it was then that would surely be at Ross Turnbull that conceded a lot of goals last season before been dropped after the Crawley game.

Some on here are looking for things that aren't their imo and will twist things. I really wish I didn't bite on to this but I do and it's something that I need to deal with. I'm a quite person irl but when something annoys me even in again the in the real world I can flip.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To the person that says i'm harsh on any player than sorry it's not true. THAT poster lists Winnall so I will here.

If Sam Winnall reads on here and i'm harsh on him then I'm sure it's something hes heard before.

Do you go to many barnsley games mate or do you just judge how good a player is via their fifa rating?

You've slated steele, hassell and now Winnall... 3 of the best players we have had in the last 16 years?!? I find you really odd mate I'm not going to lie... either that or you are a fantastic WUM.
