Big praise to Kirklees Council, set off from Holmfirth and roads all gritted and clear. Meanwhile, Barnsley and Sheffield roads horrendous. Obviously didn’t prepare for the conditions. Now inching our way down the M1. Really hope we put some effort in today to make it worthwhile.

Anyone know what the roads are like from Silkstone Common area over to the hospital? Assuming probably clear now over the motorway side.

It’s thawing fast and main roads seem okay.

Not going to Peterborogh but weather down here in Surrey is OK - just cold and windy with some sleet - doubt I would have had a problem getting to peterborough but had already decided I wasnt going

Must admit if we hadn’t bought tickets wouldn’t have gone after Wednesday night. I live in hope but in reality not expecting anything.

Unfortunately I need to be in Wombwell next weekend for reasons unrelated to football but will have no excuse to avoid going to watch us against Huddersfield - maybe we will get more snow

I meant to clarify that I was referring to the main roads in town. Can’t speak for Silkstone Common

Similar to a few years ago when we had just sacked Paul Hart and installed Andy Ritchie in charge. 3-1 win at London Road with lively forwards like Michael Chopra and Daniel Nardiello banging them in for us. It was a really enjoyable afternoon and I had two kids from Birmingham with me (aged about 9 or 10) who had never seen a professional football match live before that day. They thought Barnsley were great to watch. Hope they are still fans :)

PS The choir were on top form that day with "We've got Nardiello, Paul Hart is on the dole....". He really was one of the most disliked managers we have ever had wasn't he?

Born in Wombwell but haven’t been back for a while. When Town beat us our lives will be a misery as all Town fans here in Holmfirth except odd glory seeker or Leeds fans.

Currently in Stoneworks Peterborough where there's a Thornbridge brewery takeover. Superb stuff. Windy but no snow.
