    don't imagine it uses all the power, but if it did it would be costing you about a quid a day (0.55 kwh @ 8p x 24), but i suspect your power consumption is much lower

    Some berk in the government calculated it cost the average person £54 a year. Someone else did the calculation and found he had the decimal point in the wrong place, and it was £5.40.

    Monitor uses up a lot more power than the base unit.

    At work we are advised to always turn the monitor off when not using, base unit depends on whether it needs leaving on over night
