But if you say we were unbelievably lucky against forest you must say we were unbelievably unlucky against Ipswich - they only had 2 shots on target all game and only created 3 chances. we should have won the game 3 times over etc... swings and roundabouts

Dunno if you can really say we were unlucky against Ipswich. If you don't take your chances, and then don't defend properly then I'd say your pretty much making your own luck.

You are missing my point. Unless you expect us to score every chance we are always going to be lucky if the opposition miss but not unlucky if we miss. Another time we would have beaten Ipswich and lost to Forest - it averages out over a season I think 6 points from our 5 games is a fair reflection as to where we are. A bit more luck and we could have had 9 points a bit less and we might only have 3 but 6 seems about fair to me

Yes and you are missing mine. The Ipswich game had nothing to do with luck. We were in control, couldn't capitalise and then pressed the self-distruct button.

I thought we were pretty good first half against Ipswich, then they were by far the better side second half. Forest on the other hand were the better side for much of the game and missed chance after chance.

Agree 6 points is about what we "deserve" based on first 5 games. That rate of points scoring would keep us up, which bearing in mind we're at the start of the season with a really raw new team is a good sign. It is only a sign though. If we lose a few on the spin the youngsters could lose confidence, but obviously the opposite could happen & we grow in confidence was the season goes on. At the minute the jury is out. What we do know is we have an excellent manager & in my opinion some exciting players, particularly attacking wise. We don't have the cynical old pros like your Ipswich Towns / Sheff Utd's & we'll undoubtedly have to learn some lessons.

Yup. If Hecky keeps this group up considering the Summer turnover of players he's manager of the year by far.

Our options up front have been severely reduced.
I'm really annoyed that the club hasn't a tall strong striker at the club.
Hecky has NOT been given a full kit of tools to do a proper job.

In the grand scheme of things I don't think this will make much difference.

If you have been taking note of what I've been saying, especially since January, then most of it has come true.
Even this McBurnie debacle - I alone was questioning why the announcement didn't tie up with what Sky Sports was saying.

    Now I'm telling you this.
The McBurnie deal dropping through is a very significant hit for the club to take.
It is the difference of a shed load of points by the end of the season.
These points lost could mean the difference from mid-table to fighting a relegation battle.
Or low league position to a position near the top.
The loss of this player is going to make a difference either way.
    Why?
Because this player had a unique ability that none of the other strikers have got.
We just don't have another tall strong striker at the club.
And I would imagine Hecky is going to be absolutely fuming about this news.

It's a blow, but if we were relying on one player to keep us up we'd be screwed. He could have got injured in his first game & we'd have been in the same boat. We'll just have to get on with it & if Swansea come for Yiadom in January, give them the two finger salute.

Unique ability? Do you mean he has an attribute none of our other players have? Calm down with the hyperbole. We're talking about a player who has never scored a goal above league two.
