I certainly think Armstrong may develop into a good placeer as May Kent. They are young with potential. To a lesser and greater extent it didn't happen with us but that's the issue with getting young lads on loan. I'm saying we are better off developing our own players rather than someone else's. Or do you think that's wrong and it's better to put time and effort into other teams players.
I do get your point & to an extent I agree, the only thing I think is , that if we get a decent young loan player in for a season & he develops well under us, then his performances on the pitch must have been fairly decent & we are getting our payback that way & lets be fair, under our current model, if we sign a player on a permanent contract, theres nothing to say he wont be sold after 12 months, but at least with loans we are getting players we could never afford to buy in the first place.
Fair points. On the other hand we could perhaps afford say Oli McBurnie now but if he joins and plays well he would be out of our reach as per Fletcher. It's a countdown conundrum.
There's an argument that loans create an affinity with the club that wouldn't have otherwise been there See Hammill, isgrove and so on
you are right, but basically what we are saying is, its a gamble either way & fingers crossed you get it right more times than wrong.
