I'm going to stick my neck out and say there's a case for him being considered our best manager since Ismael! Actually if we win on Saturday, that'll be pretty difficult to argue with.
I don't know about Laumann, and how he might do if given the job for the season. But if it were a choice between him and a coach identified to come in and implement a 'possession based' game, in the hope of boosting player values. Then it'd be Laumann every time.
Why do they have to be English though? I read this a lot and I'm still struggling to fathom the benefit of having an English manager.
Really? Why did he take Styles off? We started to fall apart not long after. Compounded with Gomes going off although gomez might have had a knock. Thought we were going to blow it with how we just sat back and abandoned any idea of going forwards.
I`m a big fan of Styles but I don`t think Williams was a problem when he came on and defensively potentially a little stronger than young Callum.
I'll rephrase it to a manager with a track record in this country. They know the game, the pressures, the quality of the opponent's, the gamesmanship, fan expectation etc. In a relegation dogfight you run a risk having someone learning on the job, when you are fishing in a pond of less managers from far less competitive and vastly different leagues. We won't be snatching the Bayern or AC Milan manager up so I just think it's too big a step up. Having said that our foreign appointments seem to alternate, one bad one good, one bad etc so the next one could be good. I just think it's less of a gamble to appoint someone who knows the league.
Charles Dickens has a few contacts. I'd check his publishing company. Failing that Lord Byron's kids.
Nah, it’s a free hit. Anything other than a defeat there would be a bonus. It’s not that type of game that our season is dependant on.
Hardly ever works, although someone will point to Heckinbottom, no doubt. I think that there would be nothing to stop him applying for the post, but I would hope that applicants with greater experience of head coaching roles at higher level clubs would be amongst the pack. If he's best by interview, there would be no reason why not, but I would hope for someone with more experience.
