If we win on Saturday I would be in no rush to see a similar appointment. Unless it's a Wilder appointment which I can't see ,but live in hope.
It's too early to say, after just one game, but the big advantage of appointing him, as others have said, is that he knows the players and they appear to like him. We can't afford too long a bedding-in period for any new coach. We need someone who knows his best team and system immediately. We need lots more points before Christmas.
I honestly don't think the English game is that much of a mystery. If it was, we wouldn't have so many successful foreign managers, and not just at the top, but even at Barnsley. Barring Schopp and Morias, all of our overseas managers were fairly successful, some more than others. I don't disagree that a manager like Alex Neil or Gareth Ainsworth for example might be successful here, but I don't think they have much more of an advantage having played in England, than say a successful manager in the Austrian prem or German 2nd tier for example.
Promising start for sure. Seems to have the players motivated, used substitutions well and picked a decent starting 11. Can't do much better than that to be honest. The last thing we want is a new man to come in and try to impose yet another new system on the team. If he wants it, give him a go to the end of the season.
That's one way of looking at it. A defeat, unless it's another 7-0 wouldn't fatally undermine his case. However, if he pulls a result off there then he makes a compelling case for himself
