Apologies, I have removed my videos from Youtube

That's knackered me!

Been having computer problems and had been waiting until I'd sorted them out before looking at them. Had been looking forward to a good evenings nostalgia. How about making them available on dvd for us?

I think BRF is anticipating that sooner or later they will be forcibly taken off for copyright reasons and he'd much rather take that decision himself. I've done a few myself and have wondered whether there will be any consequences, but all my material was taped off local tv 25 to 30 years ago, so i can't see anyone getting out of their pram about it. Different matter with BFC, Sky, FLPTV stuff etc.

I don't see why you had to take them down. You said you had nobody ask you to and so what harm were they causing? It was a great way to promote the club, bring back happy memories etc and so I don't see a bad side to them being up. You put a lot of work into them and many of us appreciate the effort. Maybe you should have gave a warning to people like "I am taking them down at ....time and so watch them while you can". You could have even passed on the footage to someone else who would be willing to keep it up. Here's to hopefully more of your great work in the future.

I agree with a lot of what you have said there. Genuinely. It's not really that simple though, and at the end of the day, if I produce videos, I have to be liable for what materials I use. Nobody has asked me to remove the videos, but one day, inevitably, someone will. I'd prefer to take them down now rather than get asked or (potentially threatened) later down the line. I regret depriving anyone of seeing them if they enjoyed watching them - that's a great shame. Thanks for your kind words though, very complimentary. You're right, maybe I should have warned people first, but last night I gave it a lot of thought, and in the early hours I made a decision and got on with it (trust me, after so much hard work, I didn't want to take them down). There is the potential for this kind of thing to cause me some anxiety, and I'm sure everyone understands that I want to avoid that.

I will make enquiries with the relevant parties (SKY, BFC, Yorkshire TV etc etc) to find out whether or not I could do these videos with permission - and if I can, I'll put some back up, but I can't make any promises and I wouldn't hold your breath.

I'm sure we all appreciate you doing 'em in the first place and they've certainly brought a smile to folks' face and a tear to their eyes!

well to be honest i am absolutely gutted but that can only be a sign of how good the videos were, thanks for showing me how we used to be before my time i appreciated it alot (Y)
